Does Towing With A Reese Sidewinder/Revolution Increase The Likelihood Of Sway

Question:

Can you purchase the Reese revolution? Will moving the pivot point cause sway? Any concerns using the revolution with a trailer or boat towed behind 5th wheel trailer?

The Reese Sidewinder and Reese Revolution are the same thing, they only call the pin boxes the Revolution when they are on the trailer from the trailer manufacturer. The after market part is called a Side Winder and they are available for purchase. To choose a Sidewinder, you would need to know your pin box number to get the correct fit. For example the # RP34FR will fit a 1621 bolt pattern, which is the most common pattern among manufacturers.

We have never had anyone complain about the Sidewinder causing sway. Most customer that use a Sidewinder are impressed how the Sidewinder improves their towing experience and turning clearance. When we say the pivot point is moved back that doesn't mean you add length onto your towing setup. The point of pivot moves from the hitch head back to the pin box. It also helps the trailer track better behind the tow vehicle and makes it easier to back up.

Towing one trailer behind another trailer is illegal in many places so the first thing you are going to want to do is check the laws where you will be traveling. The likelihood of sway or a jackknifing situation increases when you tow a trailer or boat behind another trailer but that would be the case with any traditional pin box as well.
