Troubleshooting Running Lights No Longer Working on Boat Trailer
Question:
When my boat trailer was hooked to my truck and my sons trucks all lights worked properly I then used my dad’s truck and the only lights that worked were blinker and brake lights after that the next day I hooked it to my truck again and only have brake lights no running lights

It sounds like there might be a weak or bad ground on the trailer wiring that maybe just took a couple of rides to fully present itself. The first thing I recommend doing is simply inspecting the 4- or 5-Way connector on the boat trailer. Look for any corrosion or debris inside the pins that needs to be cleaned out. Also inspect the wiring right behind it to make sure nothing is pinched and they are all fully secured to the connector.
Next check the harness' main ground and make sure it's securely attached to a clean, bare metal surface free of any rust or corrosion. Do the same with the individual grounds on the light assemblies themselves, whether they use a dedicated ground wire or ground through their mounting hardware.
