Unable to Locate Connector to Install Brake Controller on 2016 Ram 1500 Express
Question:
Looking to add a brake controller to my truck. I do not seem to have the factory 4 pin connector needed. I have included a photo from your site, I have the plug that is NOT being pointed at and is gray and orange instead of white. The smaller white plug is only 2 wires and is for dual zone climate control I am told.

Thank you for the photo.
It appears all 2016 Ram 1500 trucks are equipped with a factory installed 7 and 4 pole connector by the rear bumper. If that is the case in your truck then you should have the correct plug to mate to a brake controller. It may just be tied or tucked away behind other wires under your dash, right above your gas pedal.
Once you locate it, you can use # 3024-P to install a brake controller like the very highly rated Tekonsha P3 part # 90195 with customizable LCD display, storable settings, 3 boost levels, battery protection and continuous diagnostics.
Another more convenient option for your particular situation is the Curt Echo # C51180. This is a Bluetooth enabled brake controller which requires zero wires so you can forget about wasting time searching for a brake controller plug.
It simply plugs in to your 7-way and can be controlled directly through your smartphone.
