I do have a solution, but nobody makes a custom fit hitch with a 2" receiver for your 1997 Pontiac Bonneville. Also, I would not recommend cutting the receiver off the Curt hitch to weld on a 2" receiver like the # 325-GH-002. An adapter also wouldn't work since it would cut your towing capacity by 50%.
What you need is a universal hitch like the Draw-Tite # 41990-07. This hitch has a 2" receiver and a weld-on installation. I recommend taking it to a certified welder to install it on your Bonneville. This also comes with 7" tall mounting brackets. Keep in mind, you will still be limited by the towing capacity of your vehicle.
