Recommendation to Give a Fifth Wheel Trailer and Hitch Additional Bed Rail Clearance

Question:

Hello, I have a Reese 15K Fifth wheel hitch Part # 30046 and I see that there is ajustment holes for the hieght. However I have it in the lowest hole and still have clearance issues with the top of my truck bed and the camper. Is there anything else I can do or purchse to make it 3-4inch taller? Thanks

Many fifth wheel pin boxes are adjustable, check to make sure yours is in the lowest position so that you would have the better bed rail clearance.

They say a minimum of 6 inches of clearance between the bed rails and the fifth wheel hitch is required.

Usually between raising the hitch and lowering the pin box you can get enough clearance and still have your trailer tow level.
