It works fine. Sometimes it gets stuck and doesn't want to unlock but I finally get it. Other than that it's fine. I wish it had a place for the backup camera. I was able to drill a hole and make it work. Other than that I'm happy with it. I would buy another one.
Quite straight forward to install. Good bang for the buck if you don't need much weight loaded on the tailgate. Used with the Husky Backup Camera Relocation Kit on my 2013 F-150. Simple mod to the camera kit (cut off lower wire cover and use longer screws to attach to gate where you want it.) Camera is wide angle enough that placement isn't that critical.
I just love this product for it replaced my rusty tailgate. My truck has an updated look and a lighter tailgate for me to manage. Less bending and reaching to get things out of cargo area. I made some modifications which improve the cargo area security. The seller of this product was great.
Excellent price! Arrived on schedule from UPS. I watched the two videos on installation and installed it on my truck in 20 minutes. I think it looks great. Glad I found it through your website.

after 2 weeks having installed it a clip had broken that controlled the unlatching, but I went to napa auto and found the correct clip and replaced it and have not had any more problems with it. its great looking and works great.
It's not for a 5th wheel but I purchased this because evidently used F-150 tailgates are rare in my area. I needed a replacement and this was an economical solution. The only issue I have with it is the latches like to work themselves loose over time so I'm re-adjusting them a couple times a year. No big deal. I would buy it again.
The tailgate is well made. Fits just like the original.

It still works great the same as the day I installed it.
This tailgate is used when transporting our Kubota OHV. Since it fits in the back of our Ford F 150 with the tailgate closed, the lighter tailgate is much easier to remove every time we load or unload. It really reduces the chance of a back injury handling the stock tailgate which is twice the weight. The only negative is not being to stand on the tailgate when loading other gear in the truck since the tailgate structure is not designed to take much weight. Otherwise this tailgate has worked well for us.
Speedy delivery. All parts needed were in the box. Instructions were simple but adequate. Truth be told...the biggest problem was getting my old tailgate (with back up camera) uninstalled and removed. Installation of new tailgate was easy. Product feels substantial and looks great!
Don't expect the solid functioning of your original tailgate. This one is very light and surprisingly tough. But, shutting it is rarely a one handed quick operation, pushing both edges in is often needed to secure it. Also the edges of the tailgate are not part of the main gate and they are not as tough, I broke one shortly after purchase, 40.00 to replace it. Overall I am happy with the tailgate but it does have its flaws.

Tailgate is great the pivot inserts should be improved they don't fit really well ,too loose,I made new ones that fit better
This 5th wheel tailgate is lite but sturdy. It's a good looking addition when you are on the road. The service we got from etrailer was outstanding
etrailer worked hard to help me solve the dilemma of the tailgate not being quite the right fit for my truck. Still a bit of a fit difference that I will work out. Know that you pay for postage to return an item but it's an easy process.
Good looking product. Using it to replace broken tailgate. It was the right price for me. Had to shim it with some plastic so it would fit tight.
Perfect fit. With install video I was able to have on truck fully functional in less than an hour. 'Plastic' covers on side will tell with time. The tailgate looks like it could take a hit from stuff sliding around in bed.
order was promptly filled and delivered. Install was fairly easy and tailgate is very stylish. Very happy with the outcome. My f150 tailgate was stolen from a repair lot during the freeze in feb. Peoeple should consider this product: saved me about a grand. Thanks
I recently purchased the VG-04-4000 to replace my original tailgate. I was extremely pleased to find the product was very well made & above all else, built to withstand long usage & it simply looks very stylish. I am retired & handicapped to some degree, but I was able to install the tailgate with ease. Simply put, very well made, stylish & looks great on my truck. I don't know how to take a picture & post it on this review, so you'll have to trust me, it looks great. I couldn't be happier

came damaged but not hard to fix. On the corner metal peace. Rest seem to be in good shape.
