Recommended Towing Mirrors For An Airstream Interstate Class B Motorhome

Question:

I have a MB Sprinter van Airstream Interstate X built on the 3500HD chassis. This van has updates mirrors that have a camera that shows in the mirror when the turn-signals are on, so I do not want to replace the mirrors outright. I want to add clip on mirrors when towing, but all of the clip on mirrors say they are not compatible with the van when using the features of the site that let you filter to a specific vehicle. I find it hard to believe that nobody makes a clip on mirror that would work with the taller-style mirrors found on a Sprinter van. Can you advise what options I have?

Hey David,

Most of the clip-on style towing mirrors use straps, which could end up blocking the camera built into your mirror. The CIPA Universal Towing Mirrors # CM11980-2 has a small tapered clip that will slip into the space between the mirror and its housing and block that tightens down to hold the towing mirror to the factory mirror. We haven't had this newer style of mirror in to test strap-style mirrors so this mounting style is likely going to be the only option.

The spacing between the mounting points can be adjusted to fit different width mirrors and they are also able to turn to fit rounded mirrors tighter. I've attached a short video below so you can get a better idea on whether or not these are the correct solution for you.
