Recommendation for Connecting all of the Brake Assemblies on a 1999 Forest River Trailer
Question:
I just bought a Forest River Cardinal 5th wheel, the brakes work but squeak a lot, looking under the trailer only 2 brakes on the left side hav wiring connected to brake the right side has short wires coming out of brake hub is this correct?

First thing you need to do is connect the trailer brakes that are on right side of the trailer. This should greatly improve your braking performance and will most likely stop the brakes on the left side from squealing.
You will want to run a length of 10 gauge wire like our part # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot) from the main brake output circuit of the trailer to all of the brake assemblies. Either wire on the brake assembly will work as long as the other assembly gets grounded to a clean metal surface.

You should also check the condition of the left brakes since they are squealing and are most likely trashed due to them being the only brakes that were working.
