This 5/8" diameter receiver lock codes to your Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup's ignition key. Made of automotive-grade materials and nearly impossible to pick or bump, this corrosion-resistant lock helps keep your ball mount safe and secure.

Are you tired of carrying a bulky ring of keys - for your hitch lock and coupler lock, your pickup cover or trailer door, and all the various padlocks securing your equipment? Tired of fumbling for the right key or having to replace a lost key?
BOLT (Breakthrough One-key Lock Technology) has solved that problem by designing a line of locks that can operate with a key you already have handy - your vehicle ignition key.
When you insert your own key into the cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down until they are matched exactly to that key. The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is uniquely coded to that key. When the key is removed, the cylinder moves into the locked position. When the key is turned again, it will rotate to the unlocked position.
BOLT for Commercial Applications
BOLT is particularly useful in commercial applications. Imagine being able to send a crew without having to sign out multiple keys for a work truck, trailer, hitch pins, and equipment locks. With BOLT, the vehicle key becomes a master key. It opens all those locks and you no longer have the hassle of getting to a work site only to find that you've brought the wrong keys.

I've been using this lock for about a year. Its serving its purpose. For the few times I did have to remove my hitch (70lbs). It is easy. Put the ignition key in, turn and pull off the locking cylinder wah-la the hitch is ready for removal.
I'm so glad I made the switch. The added features of rubber wrapped cylinder with dust cap and no bump cylinder is great. Nomore carrying around extra keys which is always a plus!

This works nice but if you have big hooks on your safety chains and small loops on the hitch, it may get in the way of your hooks due to the increased length of the lock section. I have 2 of these on 2 different vehicles, the one with a aftermarket hitch has the interference.

2007 Chevrolet Silverado
I'll try to remember to come back to speak to longevity, but this worked perfectly for the key on my 07 (classic) silverado 2500hd. seems solid. the lock-side is a little larger diameter than I'd have prefered, I have shackles permanently on my safety chain loops of the hitch to make safety chain hookup easier and this barely fits with the shackles (which are large), but it does fit.

These locks work great once you break them in by turning the key from left to right and then from right to left several times to get the interior grease to lubricate into the proper places. It is wonderful to have one key to fit all locks.no more wondering what you did with this lock key or that lock key.

While the keyed-to-vehicle feature is very useful, even better are the design and build quality. After cycling through numerous receiver locks for many years, this is the first one that feels completely solid and secure.
