Today we're going to review part number C56070-07. This is the CURT 7 foot long 5th wheel gooseneck wiring harness with the 7-way connector for aluminum beds. This is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit many Chevrolet, GMC, Dodge, and Ford trucks with the factory 7-way connector starting in 1997. Now this particular kit comes with the anti-galvanic corrosion kit so it is designed for use on the trucks that have an aluminum bed. Basically this will provide a 7-way blade-style connector in your truck bed for hassle-free hookup of 5th wheel gooseneck trailers. The connector mounts in your truck bed's sidewall, your tailgate posts, or your wheel well.

Using this wiring harness plugged in, it will retain your factory 7-way trailer connector at the rear of your truck if you already have one. This plugs right into the factory wiring so there's no cutting or splicing of the wires. Again, it's 7 foot long. It is an insulated wiring harness that will reach pretty much from the rear bumper all the way to the truck bed. Now this does require that your truck have the factory tow package. Again, it is custom fit for your vehicle.

It comes with everything shown here. Comes with the cable ties. Comes with the 7-way connector. Comes with the anti-galvanic corrosion kit. Basically that's 4 rubber weld nuts with the 4 stainless steel bolts.

I'm going to show you in a minute how this installs. It comes with a nice set of detailed instructions that tell you how to install it and even pictures that show you where to install it. Basically when you go to install this you would go to the back of the vehicle and find on the bumper is your 7-way. If you go behind that, you'll see where the wiring harness plugs into the 7-way. You'll want to unplug that from the back of the 7-way. Then what you'll do is take this shorter connector right here, plug this into the 7-way that's on the back of your truck.

Then this longer connector is where you'll plug that harness in that you disconnected from the you-way. This pretty much just t's in behind your 7-way at the back of the truck. Then you run this length of you foot of wire, this harness all the way up to your truck bed and then run this up the side of the truck bed. You can see it has a nice 90 degree shape to it. Don't need a lot of clearance. Then you'll drill a hole in your truck bed to install this 7-way and connect it up. That way you'll have the 7-way right handy in the truck bed so when you're towing a gooseneck or a 5th wheel, you can plug it in right here so you don't have to run it all the way back to your bumper of your truck to plug it in. Plug it in right here and then you'll still have the 7-way on the back of the truck to use. The thing with this kit is, as I mentioned, this is for the trucks that have the aluminum beds. They include this kit that when you go to install this in the side of your truck bed you want to drill four holes for these weld nuts. These are a rubber weld nut right here. It's a threaded nut on there with rubber on there. You'll drill four holes and put these rubber weld nuts into that aluminum truck bed. Then when you go to install this just like that, you'll screw it into those. That way it will keep any type of galvanic corrosion between these bolts and your aluminum truck bed from happening.
