Speaker 1: Today in our 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 we'll be installing the Weather Tech tech liner custom tailgate liner, available in black, part number WT3TD04. The tailgate tech liner will protect your tailgate against scratches, dents, paint damage, and rust by seamlessly lining the tailgate. It is chemical and UV resistant, flexible, and durable. The Weather Tech liner is made from a 100% recyclable and odorless thermoplastic elastomer and will not crack, break, or warp, even in extreme temperatures.Installation takes only minutes with the use of existing screws and hook and loop disks. The first thing we want to do before we begin our installation here is take some soap and water and clean off our tailgate so we have something for our tailgate liner to stick to properly. Alright.
Now that we got our tailgate clean you can see that we have all these scratches here on it. The Weather Tech liner will actually prevent that from happening. So, that's one of the reasons why we're gonna be installing it today. We're gonna take the included torch fit and remove these top four screws. Now, with our screws removed there's a white, almost clear, plastic washer on the inside of the screw head here.
We want to remove those. Sometimes you can just grab it and turn the screw off to it and it'll come off pretty easily.Now we'll take one of the black plastic washers that comes with the kit and install it with the flat edge facing the flat edge of our screw here just like so. And we'll do the same for all four of the screws that we removed. Now we'll get those out of the way for the time being and we'll set out mat down on top of our tailgate. Now just to make the mat easier to install I'd recommend letting it sit out in the sun for a few minutes.
It'll help flatten it out and make it fit the tailgate really nicely because it's shipped in a box where it's folded up on itself. Take our screws and we'll re-install them loosely for right now. Now they recommend you tighten the screws back up by hand using a ratchet, but if you're really careful with the screwdriver and have it turned down really low you can do the same thing.With those screws all run down now you may notice there's nothing on the front of the tailgate going towards the bed. So, what we can do is pull back the plastic covering here over our included hook and loop tape and stick it down into place. For demonstration purposes we will be leaving these on.
Ever need to remove it to clean underneath our tailgate for whatever reason, the sticky part here will stay on with the one end of the hook and loop tape. So, you'll just remove those, fold it back down, and press it into place. And that will complete our installation of the Weather tech tailgate tech line on our 2009 Dodge Ram 1500.

My opinion it’s too flimsy.it doesn’t lay flat in the closed position at the top of tail gate. Needs to be more rigid I
Warps when in direct sunlight. Why wasn't it made to slip under existing tailgate cover?
Have had a problem with the edge rolling up. Could be because nwe live in Arizona and it gets very hot in the summer.
Perfect fit for my 2017 Ram 1500. Minus 1-star since the top and bottom of the liner have a tendency to "warp". The Velcro circles provided and existing screws do secure the tailgate liner adequately. I added a 1/2" strip of magnetic tape (Home Depot) to the top and bottom of the liner. It now sits flush and looks much better.
Just got my deezee rubber bed liner fits great just as advertised also ordered weather tech tailgate protector, service was great and fast hope to business again for my 2017 ram

I purchased the tailgate protector. The material is soft and pliable. Unfortunately,the plastic washers that come with it are too small and therefore soon after installation, the protector peeled away from the tailgate at the top where it uses the washers to keep it in place. I ended up using some larger diameter washers to keep it secure. It fits well, and now does a great job of protecting my tailgate.
The TechLiner is a great product. It fit perfectly and looks awesome. You do need to let it sit in the sun for a couple hours to flatten out. This liner does velcro to your truck bed and may be a hassle if you feel a need to remove it for cleaning very often.
We received this item in a damaged box that was taped up on one end and busted open on the other end with the mat dirty and warped hanging out of the box. I don't know who to blame the damage on but we are not happy with a damaged product. It is dirty and looks like it may have been used and placed back in the box. I'm expecting this problem to be corrected.
Was easy to install. Secured by factory bolts in tailgate. Looks nice no issues.
Installation was quick and easy. It fit well and appears to be durable.
Up until about a week ago, the bed liner was working just fine, but then the adhesive holding several of the Velcro strips failed or wore out, and the liner caught air and pulled away from the rest of the Velcro and flew out of the bed. I had to pull over to retrieve it from the roadway. I've tried applying some more adhesive, but it still gets air under it, so I had to remove it completely.
Overall the bed liner was easy to install, the fact that it was designed to fit the bed of my specific truck and had a good fit and finish was important to me.
Another nice attribute is that the liner extends up the walls of the bed and does not simply end at the bottom of the bed. This helps keep snow and water and debris away from the bed itself.
The service I received from etrailer was above and beyond and exceeded my expectations.
Jena called me to update me on a change to my order, then followed up twice to let me know the item had shipped.

Stays in place,makes loading heave things much better because it protects the tail gate.Easy to clean up.
Could easily be made better. The material is great but they could improve the interface with the upper lip of the tailgate and include MORE hook and loop. Also, even though it's fairly obvious, they don't mention using the shoulder washers when screwing it down.
This product will not install on a tailgate that has a spray on bed liner applied. The mat will not fit under the supplied clips. I drilled out all the holes and just used the existing tailgate hardware to attach it. Poor design by WeatherTech. I recommend etrailer to not carry this product.
It’s very light duty and difficult to clip in. Clips get caught up on any cargo your sliding out .
It looks nice new but not very functional if you use your truck bed.
