Is it Safe to Use the SuperSprings Coil SumoSprings to Tow a Trailer with a 2010 Honda Odyssey

Question:

Hello. In a QandA you state the CSS1145 sumosprings kit is not made for trailering applications. I have a 2010 Honda Odyssey with a Hidden Hitch from eTrailer which significantly sags when pulling a trailer or with a large rear load. For a trip to TX next month I will pull a 4x8 UHaul and have a large load in the rear of the van. Can I use the 1145 to at least safely compensate for the rear load? Thanks.

Yes, you can use the Coil SumoSprings, # CSS-1145R, on your 2010 Honda Odyssey to safely reduce sag when towing a trailer. A weight distribution system would be the best option, but suspensions enhancement like the SumoSprings will work also.

Weight distribution is recommended over suspension enhancement because it takes weight off of the rear axle of your Odyssey and distributes that weight among all of the axles. With suspension enhancement, the additional weight will still be on the rear axle, but you will have less sag.

If you will only be making one trip with the trailer, it may not be worth the additional cost to install a weight distribution system, so a suspension enhancement system will work well for you. I have attached a link to all of the suspension enhancement systems we carry for your Odyssey for you to check out.
