This tail gate is very good. It fit perfectly on my 2016 Silverado 3500. The only issue I have is the locking mechanism does not always release. That can be easily resolved with a screw driver or keys. It is an annoyance but other than that it is a good value for the product.
Tail gate is ok the Curt plate and A20 fifth wheel hitch are amazing! Lori in customer service is awesome!!!!
I really like the product, seems well build and easy to install, the directions that came with are of not much value but some common sense and the tailgate is fairly simple to install with very little adjustments needed.

Tailgate looks great. Wish it closed more securely and didn’t have the “play” in the latch when closed. Overall a decent product, that Installed quickly,
Pleased with the appearance of it on my truck but a little disappointed with the tailgate latch located on the rear passenger side of the truck. The latch does does not function properly. We've made necessary adjustments from what the instruction manual recommended but the latch still does not latch properly allowing the tailgate to easily open part way.
Tail gate is just what we wanted. It did come with a dented bottom corner that we got to work. Instructions were a bit confusing but youtube video was very helpful. Fit the truck exactly and looks great.
Passenger side end plate was damaged. With hammer and what not, was able to fix. The rest of the tailgate was fine. Am very happy with the tailgate, will make hookup and unhooking ease. Looks cool on truck.
The quality of the tailgate has greatly increased over the years. Ease of assembly is very good. I would definately by another one from etrailer.
Fast shipping fairly easy installation could have saved time if watched video before installing. Would be a better product if the latches had some lateral or eccentric adjustment to pull the door snug. Doesn’t make sense to have to adjust door striker post every time you install the door then adjust it back again when you reinstall the factory tailgate. You should be able to adjust the latches to the truck and make fine adjustments one time. The plastic covers on the ends could be a little heavier I can see having to replace them after a couple of years use due to cracking.

Only used it two times easy to install one latch does not snug up securely but does latch even with adjusting door post. Makes hookup a lot easier as you do not have too lower tailgate when hooking up 5th wheel.
Excellent product. No problems this past year. Had a bad lock out of the box but you replaced it immediately. Good customer service!! Would be nice if your gates accommodated a backup camera.

Overall has been an excellent gate. Would like see a better latch system.
The tailgate is well made. Very solid with a good finish. My original tailgate had a back up camera. I was able to order a duplicate camera that I installed in the new gate. Now I just have to unplug the factory connection when I switch gates and plug in the new camera and install the new 5th wheel tailgate. Takes just a few minutes. When I’m now traveling I put my factory tailgate back on. There is a bushing on the drivers side hinge that is something hard to line up but that might just be me. This cut out tailgate is a great addition and makes hooking up simple with no bent or damaged truck parts
This is the 2nd tailgate we have bought. The first was for a 2000 GMC pickup to haul a newly purchased 5th wheel. We decided to take a trip out west and found the old 2000 was barely up to the task. We sold that truck and bought a new 2019 GMC 3/4 ton heavy duty diesel. The first purchase for the new truck was this tailgate. Needless to say we have been more than happy with them. They won't hold a lot of weight so we are careful about that.
Very fast accurate. My go to place for my trailer and trailer needs.
The tail gate does everything I wanted it to do, however, it didn't come with a rear camera nor did it have a solution to resolve the issue. I ended up buying a conversions kit to mount the rear camera on my license plate bracket. The second camera was quite a bit better than the 1st camera that failed after a couple of weeks. Now my only problem is getting rid of the brand new tail gate that came with the truck.
Very happy with this tailgate. I use it mainly when pulling my bvn 5th wheel. It goes on and off easily. I was able to install a backup camera on it which works well.
tailgate serves the purpose well, my only complaint is it had to be modified to allow use of my backup camera. the camera is standard and the tailgate should have been made to work with it.
#1 No paperwork included, instructions, warranty, parts list, etc.
#2 Didn't fit. Had to grind approx 1/4 inch off of the passenger side fitting and trim plastic off of both sides in order to install the tailgate. I know this is a Stromberg problem and not an etrailer one, but you asked for a review.
3. Those pieces of foam to hold the plastic trim pieces are nothing but pure garbage!

great, no problems, beats worrying about bending up factory tailgate when hooking up the camper.
thanks to e-trailer all of the items I order came as described and on time ... tailgate and wiring harness fit well and with the on-videos provided by e-trailer were very easy to install.....thanks again
Great deal for the price. One metal end was damaged in shipping, just bent a little. I did install a backup camera. I like the locking feature, my last one was stolen.
It's a good Tailgate, but not very strong if you use your tailgate often this is not the part you want. I figure a couple of bags of cement on it and you might break it and you cannot use your backup camera, Not quite what I thought it would be but I will give this 4 stars because it does look nice on the truck.
Didn’t receive the the correct hardware for
The bracket for the lift gate side. 3/8 size.
I installed 1/4X 20. 1” long. It’s a really great product.
I had to make the holes bigger, on the bracket.
Also had adjust the passenger side latch.
And lubed bothe brackets as well.
Love it it cuts down on wind resistance, And it make it easier to hook up my fithwheel trailer

It has been a year and I stand on my earlier comments. The locking mechanism still sticks from time to time but overall the product is a good value.
