Hitch-mounted residential plow has shock-absorbing springs and a steel-edge blade to easily clear driveways and parking lots. Long-lasting actuator with internal clutch and wireless remote lets you raise or lower the 3-position blade from your cab.
Features:
Specs:
The Detail K2 Elite snowplow conveniently slides into your vehicle's front-mounted trailer hitch for fast, simple mounting. Easily raise and lower the plow from the comfort of your cab with the remote-controlled wireless actuator. The pivoting blade makes this plow ideal for rocky or uneven surfaces because it can adjust to the terrain.
This hitch-mounted snowplow simply slides into your vehicle's front trailer hitch receiver, making it a breeze to install. A plow that attaches to custom-fit brackets ties you down to just 1 vehicle. But this hitch-mounted plow can be used on most trucks or SUVs with a 2" x 2" front-mounted hitch. As a result, this plow can be easily switched between multiple vehicles. And because it offers a nearly universal fit, you won't have to buy a new plow when you replace your old vehicle.
To install the Elite snowplow, just slide the shank of the plow assembly into your 2" trailer hitch receiver (sold separately). Then use a pin and clip or a hitch lock (sold separately) to secure the plow in the receiver.
The Elite snowplow comes with flip-down caster wheels that make the installation process even easier on you. Simply flip the wheels into position and you will be able to roll the plow into position for mounting or storage. The height of the wheels can also be adjusted to match the height of your vehicle.
Once the plow is mounted on your vehicle, lower the blade and set it to the desired angle. To set the angle, exit the vehicle and manually position the plow straight ahead, to the left, or to the right. Angling the blade allows you to push snow off to the side where you want it without having to change the angle of your entire vehicle. This is especially useful on a driveway or a private roadway where piling the snow straight ahead would create a barrier.
To begin plowing, just drive forward. When backing up to take another pass, be sure to lift the plow with the remote, then lower it again before moving forward. When approaching a large pile of snow, be sure to decrease your speed. Slamming into a pile of snow can void the warranty on the snowplow.
When you are finished, put your vehicle in park and lower the plow. Remove the plow from your vehicle after every use.
The electric actuator on this plow allows you to lift and lower the blade using either a toggle switch that installs in your cab or the included wireless remote control.
To raise the plow, use the switch or remote to activate the actuator. As the actuator moves along the internal screw, the arm on top of the actuator will pivot, raising the plow blade by pulling the chain that is attached to it. This simple, chain-lifting design has fewer moving parts than other plow-lifting devices, so the setup is less complicated and there are fewer parts to have to repair or replace.
This actuator lifts and lowers the snowplow blade smoother than an electric winch. In addition, fewer amps are required to run an actuator than to operate an electric winch, which means that the solenoid on the Detail K2 Elite will last twice as long as the solenoid on a plow that uses a winch. There is also a built-in clutch that prevents damage to the actuator if you try to raise the blade too high or drop it too low. The electric actuator is built to withstand extreme temperatures and wet conditions with its completely sealed gearbox and housing.
The snowplow features skid shoes that allow you to adjust the height of your plow. This allows you to efficiently plow over surfaces that are uneven, such as gravel roads.
Blade stiffeners, or blade support brackets, reinforce the connection between the plow and your vehicle. They add 2 additional points of contact with your hitch on either side of the plow's T-frame. This prevents stress on the frame and on your vehicle, while also strengthening the performance of the plow.
Shock-absorbing springs allow the plow to dip forward in the event that you hit an obstruction. This flexibility protects you and your vehicle from impacts.
Easily attach a variety of accessories to the front of your vehicle with this fully welded, corrosion-resistant trailer hitch receiver. Perfect for winches, spare tire carriers and more.

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Easily attach a variety of accessories to the front of your vehicle with this fully welded, corrosion-resistant trailer hitch receiver. Perfect for winches, spare tire carriers and more.It was a bit harder to put on than they show in the video. Did it by myself, everything fit perfect SO OWSOME! I would recommend anybody. Truck or car should add one. Very convenient and can be use for many different purposes.the rack on the back, I now put in the front with generator gas tools and it works as steps. So now I can tow trailer, or jet ski. Having that front hitch is so cool. You could even attach a car whinch in the receiver.
Got this on my 2006 2500 Ram. I did avoid drilling the holes over 1 inch (suggested in the directions) by loosening the bumper bolts and prying out some brackets in the frame ends temporarily (just to get the bolts fished thru). I pushed the brackets back in after getting the bolts in place (and believe the bumper bolts will squeeze them to hold them), but I did bend some tabs that I can't get back to original.
My bumper bolts on the driver side wouldn't go in far enough (hitting a cooler) to be totally flush for a completely vertical lift into place, so I had to swing it up there first, then do the passenger side.
The first pair of bolt fishing went good, but then I had trouble getting the wires off the bolts (they were tight enough that the more I tried to twist them off, the tighter they gripped it). So instead of them coming off like twisting a nut off, I ended up peeling them off (with the bolts staying stationary and my peeling the wire around them). That slightly bent the wires so they were slightly bigger than the threads and while fishing the second set, the wire didn't stay in the threads and jammed the bolt in the hole a bit (but I still got them in place). So watch how you treat the fishing wires until done.
I already have a winch mounted on a hitch bracket, but may use this for more things besides that.
Love the plow.
Only downside is the outside bottom corners have bent backwards while plowing. I will have to straighten and reinforce those areas. I plow six different driveways. I was using a 4whlr plow for these before and it would take me several hours to all day, with this plow its less than 4hrs including driving time and I have vehicle heat. I've had many people looking, commenting and asking about this hitch system. I recommend it and give them the etrailer site for information and purchasing advice. This system is very impressive. Thank you.
It wasn't fun to install by myself, but managed to do it in a few hours. Worked out great so far, I've hauled motorcycles on hitch carrier for about 2k miles so far and had no problems.
The instructions were good but could be printed larger for those of us with old eyes. The YouTube video was excellent and gave me the confidence to perform the installation myself. This front hitch is just what I needed to use for a canoe carrier over the front of my truck. Thank you.
THE FIRST ONE WAS WRONG. THEY WERE VERY GOOD IN FIXING THE PROBLEM I'm 86 so it took me a little LONGER to install. I LIKE HOW IT LOOKS, WILL NOT USE IT TILL NEXT DEER SEASON. I can put a winch on the front or on the back.
Appears to be a solid, well made product. Had a slight bend to one of the mounting brackets that looked to have occurred during shipping, easily corrected. All the hardware was included and appears to be sufficiently sized. Included instructions were clear and well written.
The product was actually delivered ahead of scheduled date and the total price was reasonable. Well satisfied thus far.
I have an 06 Dodge Ram Mega and product installation was really easy to do. Though I am a savvy "project guy", this was something I had never done before, and good for me as I was able to get a new drill out of the deal from the wife. With the existing upper bolts (18mm) incorporated in the installation, it is a great way to hold the receiver frame in place while drilling the four half-inch holes in the lower truck frame. I gave the two bolts a squirt of never seize overnight and they came off using my long, half-inch drive breaker with an 18 mm socket. With the two bolts off, I added the spacer and hung one side. On the other side, I used a pry bar on the opposite side of the frame (where the two bolts are connected with a flexible strip) to suck the bolt in (after putting on the spacer) long enough to push it up into place. This saved me from having to loosen all four nuts. Next, I used a $44.00 "Unibit" to enlarge the existing holes in the frame to pass the hardware through. After that, I drilled the (4) half-inch holes with the frame in place, passed the hardware through, and tightened everything with the last two nuts being the upper, existing ones (after the receiver was tight to the bottom of the truck frame with (4) bolts). I am certain this new receiver will give me options for carrying my generator, dirt bike, or what have you! Can't wait to get on the road!
The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the acces holes they want you to drill in your frame. I didn't drill them, I used a fish tape and pulled thru. Be aware tho some frames have mounting boss supports thru the inside of frame the bolts will get hung up on.
Other then that hitch works great. Two thumbs up.
I got the hitch for a 2004 dodge 2500. I put it on the front of the truck to haul a motorcycle. It works great and all you can see is the hitch opening. Works great.
This plow does not stand up to much use. I used it for my long gravel driveway and I was dissapointed in the durability of the plow. The plow bent near the cutting edge and twisted when I accidentally bumped into a rock when turning around. This plow is for light use only and it does not back drag snow well since it is light and does not have any down pressure.
The installation was very straightforward using jack stands and a floor jack. Rather than drill the large hole in the frame per the instructions, I used a cutting torch and elongated an existing hole in the frame so the washer and bolt would just sneak through.
The receiver sits just below the front "air dam" below the bumper. On a 4x4 this is no problem. Check your clearance on a 4x2, you'll lose about three inches of clearance below the air dam.
I'm very pleased with the fit and finish of the hitch.
The installation was a breeze, the instructions were great. The hitch fit my truck perfectly.
Prettt easy to install after watching a you tube video on it. Immediately hooked my winch up to it and pulled an 8k pound rock with it. Receiver hitch held up perfect.

Still holding up great
Easy to put together, easy to put it on and take it off my truck, works like it should
Directions were exactly what needed to be done, only set back was needing to drill a 1 1/4 inch hole, used a torch because I didn’t have a drill bit big enough, but it needed to be done so not complaining
There were a couple of parts missing. When I contacted them they were very helpful. I received the parts two days later!
I have had the hitch for over year pushing back my 30' trailer has never been this easy. I am so glad that your company has built one to aid the ease of use.
I received the Erickson Big Bed Load Extender and Draw-Tite Front Mount quickly the people at etrailer kept me in the loop when there was a chance that the Front Mount may be late because the manufacturer had not sent stock. This did not become and issue but they called me ASAP when they knew they did not have stock. Nice Service!!!!!!!!!!!
I do have a suggestion when installing the Draw-Tite Hitch. The directions say to drill or cut a 1 1/4" access hole in the side of the frame rail to have access when installing the 1/2 in bolts and plate. This is not necessary in my 2006 Dodge 2500 truck. Make a 12" snake out of a piece of copper wire from some Romex. Make a loop in the end and after drilling the 1/2" lower mounting holes in the frame, snake the wire thru the 1/2" hole to the front of the frame rail. Attach the wire that is in the kit to the snake wire and pull it thru the front of the rail to the 1/2 in drilled holes.
This procedure makes the installation much easier, saves time and DYI'ers do not have special tools to drill such a large hole.
Hope this tip helps.

Have been using product to carry Kayaks on front of my truck with a 5th wheel hooked to the back. Nice setup
Very high quality receiver. I would recommend this unit. As with most after market parts a small amount of fab work is required for a clean installation. I am planning on hauling bikes on the front of my 1Ton Dodge Ram with my camper on the back. As strong as this unit appears I would not hesitate to put my 400CC motorcycle on the front also.

After a year of hauling bikes, motorcycles and other racks I could not be happier with this product. Yes it does sit a little lower than not having a receiver, I have scraped it a few time. My DRZ400 rides fine and I am not worried it will bend or fall off. I have made over a dozen trips using this hitch.
Very simple to install. But i am a mait mech.
Fit perfect on my dodge 2007 3500 4x4 mega cab diesel.
Nice but needed drilling so required professional install.
The hitch sat so low I had to remove it.
The hitch is suitable, however, it rides too close to the ground. I would not recommend this product.
It has been one year since purchase, and I unpacked it and all looks good. I have not installed it, as one year ago I restarted a graduate degree online and that takes most of my time with a full time job. Check back with me January 2020, as I will install most likely over holidays 2019.
Backing short trailers or my boat trailers, cannot see trailer until it is going the wrong way in the door mirrors, in my stock 4x4 2004 Dodge Ram. I want to hook trailers to move them short distances, on my property or a non-crowded boat ramp with front hitch, always wanted to try it. Also will move my dirt bike on front hitch, without dirt bike blocking brake lights as with using rear factory installed hitch and dirt bike carrier. Will use in daytime as now front hitch receiver and dirt bike might block headlights. Check back early 2020 if you want results after I install it and use hardware and instructions. Sorry that in one year no install yet, been busy and really do not/did not need it right now. Thanks.

Will this fit a 2008 3500 Dully 4 wheel drive?
