Backing Trailer When Using Curt C17057 Weight Distribution System
Question:
I purchased a WD Curt hitch from you and need to know about using the hitch when backing up. It is hitch number 17057. Any issues I need to know?

The primary weight distribution scenario where you'll need to be very careful about backing the trailer is if you were using a friction sway control unit like part # 83660. Because jackknifing the trailer would damage the unit, it's recommended that a frictions sway control unit be disabled or better yet removed from the trailer while backing. Any W/D system can be damaged if you should jackknife, but the friction unit is the most susceptible.
If you're not using a friction sway control unit with your Curt # C17057 round bar weight distribution system, it's not necessary to remove anything when backing the trailer, unless you're backing at an extreme angle.
