Installing New Powered Vent on 2019 Sunseeker RV Equipped with Standard Vent Assemblies

Question:

I currently have 2 vents in my 2019 Sunseeker 3250 class C motor-home that are simply vents only with no fans. I would like to upgrade these to the Mayfair Deluxe powered fans, but not sure if I can because I dont know the vent has been pre-wired? Any help or suggestions?

If your 2019 Sunseeker RV is equipped with standard non-motorized vents then I would say it's unlikely that the openings are pre-wired for power, although I certainly still recommend checking to make sure. Simply take a look around the existing vent area to see if you can find any power wires that are already routed and not being used. You can also contact the RV manufacturer directly with your VIN and they will be able to tell you exactly how your motorhome is set up.

Even if it's not pre-wired, you can still upgrade to a motorized unit like the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-07500K that you were looking at. As long as you have a 14" x 14" opening in the roof, which is the standard opening for both powered and non-powered vents, the physical install won't be much at all. You can use the Install Kit # 344270KITW, which includes the necessary hardware and sealant.

Then it would be a matter of routing some 16 gauge wire like # DW02359-1 (sold by the foot) from your 12V power source up to the vent with a minimum of 20 amps on the circuit to provide sufficient power.

I have attached the full installation manual for this fan below that you can also look through.
