Difference Between Curt Trailer Hitch Receivers That Fit 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 Without Hitch
Question:
Is there any difference between the two curt trailer hitches that fit the 2020 silverado/sierra 2500 without factory hitch? Apart from the capacities and receiver size? Or are they pretty much the same thing?

Expert Reply:
The two trailer hitch receivers that fit the 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 and Sierra 2500 without a factory hitch are the same but for the differences you mentioned, the receiver size and capacities.
- 2 Inch Receiver: Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C36CR
- 2-1/2 Inch Receiver: Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C96CR
Apart from that they are the same hitch with the installation for both being exactly the same, bolting onto the frame of your truck with no drilling needed.
Since the capacities of both hitches are more than enough for the truck, the 2 inch hitch will be the choice for most people unless you have a specific need for a 2-1/2 inch receiver. I have added links below to the installation instructions for you to check out as well.
