2007 Ford Ranger - Roadmaster Standard Magnetic Tow Lights

  • Removable Tail Light Kit
  • Bypasses Vehicle Wiring
  • Magnetic Mount
  • Universal
  • Roadmaster

Avoid tapping into your towed Ford Ranger's electrical system by using these self-contained tow lights. Heavy-duty magnets keep lights securely in place on your towed car.

Features:

  • Allows you to legally tow your car without having to tap into its wiring
  • Eliminates risk of electrical damage to towed car
  • Attaches securely with magnets
  • Connects directly to motor home wiring, bypassing towed vehicle completely
  • Has heavy-duty vinyl casing for superior protection of wiring
  • Meets Department of Transportation standards
  • Fits all vehicles
  • Includes 2 lights and wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector
  • Length of wire:
    • Wire that connects the lights: 53-1/2"
    • Wire that extends out the back of the light: 243"
    • Wire with 4-pole connector: 35-1/2"
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty

The law requires that all towed cars have functional signal and brake lights in sync with the RV towing them. Most wiring kits require you to splice into your vehicle's electrical system, but doing this can void your manufacturer's warranty. Magnetic tow lights avoid this problem by having the wiring run underneath your car and plug into your power source.

These lights have worked flawlessly for the whole 2023 camping season on my RV towed vehicle. I mount them on the rear of the roof so they are nice and high above bicycles on a hitch mounted rack.

by:

Extremely happy with the tow bar wiring. Not one problem for the year!

by:
Jeep

They were shipped fast and arrived quickly. These are quality lights with very strong magnets. I installed them on my Jeep in no time after making some steel brackets for the tubular aluminum bumper. Would be nice to have 5 or 6 magnetic clips to place along the wire to secure it to the vehicle. I highly recommend these lights.

2005 Subaru Forester

I like these lights, nice strong magets hold them securely to car roof. I use them because my bikes in bags cover my tail lights. I added LED bulbs because when I tow the car with my RV these additional lights put to much load causing voltage drop and dim lights.

These lights are still working well only improvement I could suggest is if they could somehow maybe put up plastic layer between the magnets and the roof because they’re taking paint off, if they could still make the magnet is strong.

Jeep Wrangler

I purchased the Curt Tow Bar with Adjustable-Width Arms - Car Mount - 2" Ball - 5,000 lbs. initially I was Leary of the product because of its low price compared to other tow bars. I now can say my concerns were needless because after flat towing my Wrangler over 5,000 trouble-free miles I have nothing negative but only positives to report. The best thing I like about the tow At is that it only takes 5 minutes to attach and unhook.

by:

Good light set. Works perfectly and has held up well.

by:
2010 Chevrolet Silverado

Everything was delivered on time and worked perfectly. This solved my concerns about towing my car with my RV with a car dolly.

by:

Heavy duty magnets gave me the security of knowing they wouldn’t come off. Very easy to install!

by:

Fast delivery. Did a test as soon as I received the light kit. Flawless. Magnets very strong but safe for car finish.

by:

I did a mock-up set-up and this kit works as advertised.
Magnetic bases are strong, it should fit my needs perfectly.

by:

lights look fine....

easy hitch
is far better than I expected....very nice. I should have gotten this sooner!!!

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 1983 Jeep CJ-8 D Scrambler Behind a Motor Home
Actually, yes, the recommendation will be the same for the 1983 CJ-8 Scrambler as it is in the question and answer that you referenced. In order to flat tow a vehicle you will need to install base plates first so the tow bar has something to attach to. For a 1983 Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler, you will need to use Demco base plates, # DM9518112. These will actually bolt to the bumper. They need to be bolted to a flat surface on the bumper and in most cases, the bumper will need to be modified and...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2012 Chevy Cruze 2LT with Manual Transmission
For the 2012 Chevy Cruze it looks like there are base plates for various models. If your 2LT does not have fog lights and is not an RS model then I recommend the Roadmaster base plates # 523168-1. If you have an Eco model with active air shutter system, go with # 523170-1. And for an RS model the only option is # BX1698. For either of the Roadmaster base plates I recommend the Falcon 2 tow bar # RM-520. If you need the Blue Ox base plates then go with the Avail tow bar # BX7420. For safety...

From the research I did, you will need a transmission lube pump or drive shaft disconnect to flat tow the 2-wheel drive model. For the all wheel drive model you will have to use a transmission lube pump to flat tow. Be sure to consult your owners manual for the proper towing procedure and anything else that may be needed. Once you have determined what you need for your model, you will need compatible base plates to go with the tow bar. You can use the Roadmaster XL base plates, # 3109-1....

  • Parts Needed to Tow a 2006 Ford Van Behind a Motor Home
The trailer connector on the rear of the van is meant as an output circuit for a trailer only, it will not work for feeding voltage into it to power the vehicle tail, brake and running lights. Voltage running into the vehicle through the trailer connector could damage the lighting circuits. To wire the vehicle for flat towing, you have two main alternatives. A magnetic lamp set-up like part # RM-2120 works well, especially if you are not planning on flat towing the van frequently. The...

  • How to Mount Magnetic Tow Lamps on Fiberglass Hardtop Roof of 2007 Jeep Wrangler
An option would be Magnetic Light Mounts like part # TLP01. You'd shut the mounts in the windows of the driver and passenger side and then the magnetic lamps like part # RM-2120 would stick to the mounts. Although the lamps would be on the side of the vehicle and not on the rear, they'd still be highly visible.

  • Can 2014 Kia Soul with a Manual Transmission Be Flat Towed
I did some checking and your 2014 Kia Soul with a manual transmission can be flat towed. Your Roadmaster tow bar can be used but you will need a new base plate kit as they are all custom fit for specific vehicles. For a base plate kit you'd need the # RM-522114-4. Aside from that most of the flat towing components from your old vehicle can swap to the Soul but it really depends on what you have. If it's a universal lighting system like the part # RM-2120, that will easily fit the Soul....

Take a look in your owner's manual for a recreational towing section or in emergency towing to determine the proper procedure/gear that your 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee needs to be in for flat towing. I can only go back to 2004 online so I cannot check the 1997 model year but I can tell you all the parts you will need. First, you will need base plates for the Jeep. If you want removable base plates (so they are not easily noticeable at the front of the vehicle when not towing it) I recommend...

The fixed base plates for your Cherokee are # 1402-1. For safety cables I recommend # RM-643. The coiled design helps keep the cables off of the ground. For lighting I recommend using the Roadmaster # RM-2120. This type of set up bypasses...

On the 2000 to 2002 models you will need to remove the grill for installation. For a compatible tow bar I recommend the Falcon 2, # RM-520. It is rated for 6,000 pounds so it can handle the MR2 with ease. You will also need safety cables # RM-643. For lighting I recommend a simple magnetic kit # RM-2120 because...
