So-so construction and design. With one modification they're more than acceptable. The arms and straps will slip and loosen if installed on triangular or tapered housings. Mirrors that have backs nearly parallel to the mirror face, and have upper and lower mirror edges that are nearly parallel are not affected. Adding a peel and stick plastic wall hanger to a tapered housing will stop the strap from slipping and loosening.
The ball and socket mount is good and tight, but the stud on the ball is loose in the arm. I think most of the jitter and vibration others report is from this sloppy clearance that the stud screw can't tighten enough. I'll be addressing that as well.
A nice option for those of us that
a) don't tow a majority of the time and don't want full time extended mirrors, and/or
b) tow with multiple vehicles and prefer to have adjustability to fit our 'fleet'.

2023 Toyota Tundra

I ordered these for a 2023 Tundra after being advised to do so. The straps seem to be too short and to get them attached I'm really stretching then out and they're difficult to mount. I'm concerned they're going to pull off with so much tension and very little strap left threading through the tensioner.

uh oh, looks like someone made a mistake. These mirrors wont fit your Tundra, but part # KS69ZR will. I will have our customer service team reach out to you about this.

Tim

3/14/2024

Very well. When I first bought these mirrors I thought the straps were too tight, but after a little use they worked perfectly. I would adjust my rating up if given the chance.

@Tim Thanks for the feedback!

Works as intended, offers a good adjustable fit and does improve visibility.

After a year of usage, the mirrors are still working well.

by:

Mirrors are working fine. They provide just enough extra lateral viewing distance to see along our 78" wide travel trailer.

by:

I don’t use them any longer and got rid of them because the wouldn’t stay clipped. In fact one of the fasteners came off while driving on the freeway and I had to use duck tape to keep the mirror attached.

by:

These mirrors technically work but tend to shake & vibrate a lot when driving, no matter how much you tighten them. I will buy better mirrors (slip overs?) when & if they become available for my Jeep GC. Until then, I hope the don't fall of while towing my trailer.

I do not see any slip on mirror options available for a Jeep Grand Cherokee. If you would like to find another option that would work better for your vehicle, I would highly recommend getting in touch with our customer service department to see what they can do to help you get these replaced with some better ones.

Toyota Tacoma

Didn't really help that much on my Tacoma pulling a 8" wide trailer. And, one fell off.

by:
2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L

We bought these for my Jeep Grand Cherokee and they fit beautifully. We went on a couple trips already, one of them being over 2300 miles and there were no issues and they made towing our vintage trailer so much easier. We needed them by a certain date and got them thanks to having them sent out right away. Highly recommend!

by:
2015 Toyota Tacoma

Used these mirrors on a few lengthy trips now and they have been steady and secure, I added bungees first time out in case they came loose, but no longer necessary. They do keep the adjustable mirrors on my 2015 Tacoma from moving, but I expected that.

by:

These were OK. I had no issues with them but was concerned if they were going to stay in place. They are very light weight.

by:

Thank you for another great item, I think they will work as anticipated.
Will continue to shop Etrailer for all my needs !

by:
Toyota Tacoma

They don't work on 2023 Tacoma.
The clips
that hook onto the mirror housing are thick plastic. They interfere with the mirrors. If they were thinner steel hooks they might work.

by:
2019 Ford Ranger

They work good.

2006 Toyota Tacoma

I have used these mirrors on a 2006 Toyota Tacoma and a 2020 Ford Explorer and they worked well on both. I experienced no slippage of the straps and the mirrors hold their adjustment.

by:

These are amazing mirrors for the 2020 jeep gladiator went from Texas to Wyoming with Winds and back no problems

by:

Worked great!! Was everything I was hoping for. Very easy to install

by:

They bounce and move. They are not vibration proof. Does not do anything beyond what the factory mirrors can see.

They do not take returns unless product is unopened and not used so beware.

by:

I purchased the towing mirrors for my 2017 4Runner. They are perfect and at a great price!!

I also purchased the Curtis TriFlex break controller and it took under 15 minutes to install. Another great deal. I haven’t had the opportunity to test it yet but from what I read here, I have no concerns.

Order to delivery was less than a week. Very happy!!!

by:

I have used these mirrors several times now and love how fast and easy they attach to my truck. Once they are positioned, they work awesome for pulling my camper. I have no issues at all. They stay tight and don't move or rattle around. I wish I had taken pics, but did not even think about it. I love them am 100% glad I purchased them!

by:

Bought these for a Subaru Outback, with teardrop shaped mirror housings. Used them for a 50 mile trip, kept sliding to the outside, vibration was horrible. Had to stop twice to re-align the mirror on the driver side, kept pointing down to the ground.

by:

Mirrors have worked well. Used them from FL to UT and back and they have held up well. Still using them.

Mark

They have continued to work well. They have travelled from Florida to Colorado and Nova Scotia and are still going strong.

@Mark You've put some miles on those, glad to hear they're working well for you!

by:

They seem to fit well over the existing mirrors.

by:

Easily attached whenever we tow our 24ft pontoon or travel trailer. Found it also fit the mirrors on my son's truck pretty well when he towed the boat.

by:

Dont help much. Folds bsck the mirrors on the car every time a truck goes by

  • Replacement Plastic Adjustment for Clip-On CIPA Universal Towing Mirrors
I believe you are referring to the Replacement Strap # 11952STRAP for the CIPA Universal Towing Mirrors # 7070-2. Other than that there are no other replacement parts and you'd need to replace the entire mirror. If just one needs to be replaced you can use part # 7070 as the part you referenced is for 2 mirrors.

  • Recommendation of Towing Mirror for 2011 Toyota 4Runner
We have two very good options for you, both are confirmed to fit your 2011 Toyota 4Runner. First, I suggest the CIPA Universal Dual Lens Towing Mirrors, # 11953-2. These universal-fit mirrors clip onto your factory side-view mirrors to extend your lines of sight while you're towing. The 2 fully adjustable faces of each mirror let you customize your view. The second option is the CIPA Universal Towing Mirrors, # 7070-2. This has a single lens if you prefer.

  • Tow Mirrors for 2016 Toyota 4Runner
The K-Source # KS81850 mirrors that you referred to are not a fit for your Toyota. I don't see a custom fit tow mirror extension for your 4Runner at all. However, the CIPA # 7070-2 Universal Fit Mirrors are the best of the universal fit mirrors. The rubber straps are adjustable and they do not damage your factory mirrors. I use these on my Chevrolet Colorado and find them indispensable for pass cars and backing up the trailer.

  • Towing Mirror For 2015 Nissan Armada
There is not a slip-on or bolt-on towing mirror for your Armada, but you can use the CIPA # 7070-2 Universal Towing Mirrors which will give you a greatly improved field of vision. You could also use the CIPA # 11953-2 model that you referred to if you like the exta convex spotter mirror. I prefer to have a larger regular mirro offered on the # 7070-2. I use these on my Chevy Colorado pickup when towing a 25' travel trailer and they make a big difference when passing and backing up. The...

  • Slide On Mirrors for 2017 / 2018 Chevrolet Colorado
The CIPA # CM11401 Slip-On mirror that you referenced is for a RAM truck. I wish someone made slip-on mirrors for the Colorado because I would buy them for mine! The only option available is "universal fit" mirrors. I have been using the CIPA 7070-2 mirrors for my Colorado. They are indispensable for passing cars and backing into spots. Since the Colorado mirror bodies have a taper to them I criss cross the rubber straps for a better grip.

  • Recommended Towing Mirror Extensions For a 2023 Toyota Sienna
For your 2023 Toyota Sienna I recommend the CIPA Universal Towing Mirrors # 7070-2 as there are no custom fit units for your mirrors. These mirrors have a simple strap system allowing you to quickly install and remove the mirrors without worry if they are secured properly. We also offer replacement Straps # 11952STRAP and a single Mirror # 7070 if any of the parts become damaged over time. You will not have to get a whole new set of mirrors like some manufacturers require you to do.

I recommend using the CIPA Universal Towing Mirrors # 7070-2 on your 2024 BMW X5. These are universal with adjustable arms to provide a secure mount to your factory mirrors. Best of all should anything ever happen to one of your mirrors you can get a single Replacement # 7070 or Replacement Straps # 11952STRAP rather than having to get an entire set like some others are sold.

The K-Source Universal Dual Lens Towing Mirrors # KS3990 are not going to interfere with the blind spot monitoring on your 2024 Toyota Highlander XLE. I will say from personal experience you will likely will not like the dual lens style mirror as they are going to vibrate slightly in high winds driving on the highway and with the much smaller size of the lens makes it difficult to see clearly on the highways.
