Jensen RV Stereo In Use

Do you have an older malfunctioning stereo you want to replace so you can get back to rocking out in your rig? Or perhaps you want to upgrade to a stereo that gives you improved sound quality while binge-watching the latest TV show craze? This 3-zone, multimedia stereo with a built-in CD/DVD player provides crystal-clear audio in and around your RV or camper whether you're streaming music from your smartphone, listening to your favorite radio station, or watching a DVD for family movie night.

3 Zones Use Bluetooth to Stream Audio

This stereo has 3 zones that can be connected to up to 8 speakers (sold separately). You can either play your preferred radio stations or you can connect your smartphone to Bluetooth so you can stream all your favorite songs on the fly.

Stereo Settings are Easily Adjusted with jControl App

Jensen RV Stereo Settings

You can use the free jControl smartphone app, included wireless remote control, or buttons on the front of the stereo to adjust the stereo's settings. You'll be able to tweak audio settings such as bass, treble, balance, and volume to set the mood whether you're throwing a large patio party with friends or sharing a quiet, romantic dinner with your spouse.

And if the kids are in the back watching a movie, the electronic skip protection feature will prevent the DVD from skipping when you're traveling over rough roads to the campsite.

Multiple Connection Points Hook Up External Devices

This stereo has multiple connection points to hook up external devices for additional music and other audio content. You can use the auxiliary port and the included to play your favorite songs from your MP3 player while doing the dishes. Or at the end of a long day at the campsite, you can use the USB port to charge your smartphone.

Tuner Stores Multiple Stations for Quick Access

For when you're on the go and are running behind your vacation schedule, you can save some time by using the digital AM/FM tuner, which has programmable presets so you can quickly and conveniently access previously saved stations. If you want to be able to get to your favorite stations with the push of a button, you can save them using the 6 numbered preset buttons along the bottom of the stereo. And if you're on the road and your favorite stations at home are fading out, you can easily scan through up to 12 AM stations and 18 FM stations from surrounding areas.

Recessed Installation into an Interior RV Wall

Jensen RV Stereo Installation

This double-DIN stereo recesses into a taller interior wall of your RV or camper and bolts down with mounting hardware (not included). If you're not directly replacing a stereo, you'll have to cut a hole that measures 9" wide x 6" tall x 5-1/2" deep. Avoid mounting this stereo near heat radiating appliances such as electric heaters or anywhere thats poorly ventilated, humid, or dusty. Then use the included wiring harness to hook the stereo up to power and ground, as well as any speakers you have in your RV.

We replaced the original radio in our 2015 Wildcat with this unit because it has Bluetooth capabilities. It interchanged easily and sounds great.

Comments
The radio is still working great. I have not had any issues with it.

Replaced my iRV 6500 with this Jensen unit. Was an exact fit for plug and screw holes. Unit works flawless and the Jensen Bluetooth app is a huge bonus! All in all took about 15 minutes to switch this out.

by:

Love the product... however why in gods green earth would you send a expensive radio and not cover up the box... im not understanding that.. that there was very unprofessional to do that.. lucky i was home to receive it.. please do better

by:

Fit perfectly and looks great, but the wiring instructions were not there for the do it your selfer

You definitely should have received instructions with the Stereo Unit. I will have our Customer Service team reach out.

This was a three beer project! It takes a bit to sort it all out, but installation went smooth. We love the radio and the app works great to control the volume while sitting at the fire. Nice upgrade and works great one year later.

by:

The stereo came without installation instructions. It also had no mounting screws. The reception is not good so I will have to buy an antena. (The old one had great reception) I'm right in a town with an FM channel. The old stereos CD play was shot so this fixed that.

by:

Had to read other reviews in order to find out how to get the side panels
off to access the screw holes. Other than that everything fit perfect.

by:

I gave the unit 4 stars only because changing settings is not very intuitive. Either the time display doesn't work, or I'm too lazy to read the manual. Not an issue for me. I installed the unit where an upright factory CD/radio was in a 32' travel trailer. I didn't want to tear into the cabinets in my RV, so I installed the unit on it's side. Works perfectly, never skips, play back is fine. It's in my RV, so I would never use it while we're bouncing down the road anyway. The DVD output jacks are red, white, yellow, not HDMI. Another non issue for me. I have it hooked up to a non-smart Sharp 1080 TV, play back works great. With 3 different speaker zones, I can control the overhead speakers easily. Great for my rig. When watching a DVD, I playback through the speakers in the rear of the RV. For music, we pipe it through all the zones. Bluetooth works great, easy to pair, so I can listen to the music on my phone or internet, when it's available. The replacement stereo was over $800, so I'm extremely happy with this unit. We got rid of the old TV with a built in DVD player, and upgraded to a new Sharp. Both the Jensen and the new TV combined were $200 less than the replacement OEM stereo, which was junk anyway. Many happy RV outings later, we're still happy with it. Mounting it sideways was definitely a concern, and it's not recommended, but no issues with playback. Lots of wires to play with to get all three speaker zones working correctly, and of course my RV did not give me a wiring diagram. The remote looks cheap, but it functions perfectly 15' away, and survives being bounced around in the kitchen utensil drawer.

Comments
Many miles later the unit still works perfectly. Im pleased to report zero issues DVD playback with the unit mounted sideways.

Direct fit, plug and play with no splicing necessary in our Wildwood, replacing the "Drive" brand stereo/DVD that quit working.

by:

I’m a throwback from way back. Jensen was a favorite sound device of mine and now installed in my RV not only gives me a piece of mind but also gives me great sound…. Just like before!.

by:

This was exactly what we needed. We replaced our old one with this one and it was a perfect fit. The order process was quick and easy and everything arrived quickly.

by:

The Jensen RV Stereo with DVD Player is working beautifully. I am very happy with the product.

by:

Great product..Delivery was faster than I had expected which was great. Mounted in my 5th wheel. My previous system was years old.(played small cassette cartridges if that’s an indication) No cds or dvds. So this is definitely a plus. Setup was quick and easily understood..Sound is great..The simplicity of cd/dvd/radio is so nice..Fit Perfect in area I had decided to mount..Everything lights up so it is easily seen from a distance. Completely satisfied with this product..

by:

Fit the existing location perfectly. It took less than an hour for the installation.

by:

Worked perfectly in our 2009 Dutchmen 5th wheel. Replaced our original unit.

by:

Replaced the old one and new stereo is working well with good quality sound.

by:

Fits in hole perfect to replace Estone 8500

by:

It is a good stereo, but the clock always runs fast.
And, I never could get a good antenna for it. We are often about 20 to 30 miles from a big city, and it is difficult to pull in radio stations. I wish that Jensen would offer an antenna made for this product. I used a car radio antenna and it is fair only.

Comments
Jim, Thank you so much for the review. I know that you were searching for a good antenna for it and I just wanted to let you know that we have several including part JAN139 . If you are interested in the others I have attached the link.

The unit fits the hole perfect have not done the wireing yet. I like the way the cd works nice looking set. I will send a photo after I install it. We will use it when we go camping we have three speakers one outside. This is really a smooth unit.

I installed this radio to replace an 8+ year old Jensen AWM970 in my trailer. The radio looks good and fits the same cutout so the physical install is simple. The electronic install is annoying because the original install was done at the factory and there were no labels on the speaker wires and the labels on the new wires are somewhat cryptic using a code such as A_RR- . A listing with English explanations would be HELPFUL. I was able to find a listing online from the user manual of both radios to figure out which wires go where and another slight confusion because the JWM60A has front and rear "A" speakers the old radio did not . also the old radio had a +12 v (unswitched) for memory, the new radio apparently doesn't need that. The JWM60A has all of the function of the old radio but it is NOT as good a RADIO. Selection is terrible. I scanned and found NO FM or AM STATIONS. the old radio had 15 or 20 from the same antenna installed in the same location. was finally able to pick up 3 stations . A poor tuner. This is admittedly a fringe area but, again the old radio was able to tune in LOTS of stations.

by:

Love this unit. Replaced an IRV33 unit that never worked properly from Day 1. This unit sounds good and has all the functions that I need. As others have said, it's not a real powerful unit, but half-volume will fill up my trailer with plenty of sound. Bluetooth remote works great. Had to modify my cabinet opening as this unit is more rectangular shape than the original IRV unit that was installed in the trailer.

by:

although I did not get it wired in(will send pictures once installed)it appears that this is a good replacement for the old one

by:

Radio & CD worked fine. Just had to modify the opening to fit the width of the radio

by:

The product is fantastic and the tech had no problem installing. I would definitely buy from this supplier again!

Comments
It was working very well until we were rear ended and had to total the trailer. I would definitely buy again.

After 8 months the unit started acting up and would only play one episode on a DVD the had multiple episodes on it. They honored the warranty and sent me a replacement right away. The first DVD I tried to play didn't go well. It played the scenes in a random order and the movie made NO sense. It eventually started working right and I am still using it after 5 months.

Since the subwoofer you're trying to connect to the Jensen # JWM60A installs like a standard speaker you can hook it up to this unit, but there's not a specific subwoofer output as there would be on a normal stereo receiver. You'll likely get the best results by connecting to one of the front speaker outputs- the grey and grey/black wires from pins 6 and 7, or the white and white/black wires on pins 9 and 10.
