Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer dot com. Today we take a look at the Derale Single Hose Transmission Cooler installation kit. Now, this single host kit includes everything you need to install a transmission cooler on any vehicle that has five sixteenths inch size transmission cooler lines. Now, this does include both the plastic rod and the rigid mount options. The kit will include everything shown here on the table.

We'll start with the four, seven inch long bendable metal mounting brackets with the hardware. The four plastic rods, clips, and foam pads. The four foot long OEM spec hose with the 11, 32nd size inner diameter. Four hose clamps for installing the hose. And this Insta-Dapt radiator adapter.

Now, the plastic rods and clips, this will allow you to install the transmission cooler to your radiator. The kit we mentioned also includes this Insta-Dapt adapter fitting for adapting the cooler lines to the radiator. Basically, this Insta-Dapt fitting has a half inch by 20 male and female threat on it, and it'll fit most vehicles with a five sixteenths size transmission cooler line. The auxiliary transmission fluid cooler I purchased was excellent! I paid extra for 2 day delivery, and it arrived within 25 hours of ordering! Installation was a little more complicated than the video indicated, but the video was an excellent guide for a do it yourself installation. I save nearly $400 in labor cost! I always try to shop with etrailer.com because their web site and online support are very good at ensuring the products I need are appropriate for my specific vehicle, and they provide installation instructions and videos.

  • Transmission and Power Steering Cooler for a 2007 Honda Odyssey
Honda has traditionally required a transmission cooler and power steering cooler for towing but not an engine oil cooler. You can double check by looking in the towing section of your 2007 Honda Odyssey owner's manual. With that said coolers are not vehicle specific so you can use # D15230. The great thing about a cooler that has its own fan is that it does not have to be placed in front of the AC condenser core. It can be placed anywhere there is space. This particular cooler is 12-3/4"...

  • Recommended Combo Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler with Fan for 2011 Honda Odyssey
For your 2011 Honda Odyssey, I recommend taking a look at the Derale Econo-Cool Combo Engine and Transmission Cooler # D15230. This remote cooler assembly features 2 circuits to cool both your transmission fluid and engine oil simultaneously. Its electric fan will supply air flow for the heat exchanger, so the unit's efficiency will remain the same no matter how fast you are driving. The cooler measures 12-3/4 inches wide, 7-5/8 inches tall, and 3-3/4 inches deep. You can add the Derale...

  • Is Derale Econo-Cool Engine and Transmission Cooler Fan Always On
The fan of the Derale Econo-Cool Combo Engine and Transmission Cooler Assembly with Fan # D15230 is not always on, it is thermostatically controlled with the Derale Remote Engine Oil Cooler Installation Kit with Thermostat Fan Control # D15752. You will also need the Derale Single-Hose Transmission Cooler Installation Kit # D13006. The oil cooler thermostat activates at 180 degrees and turns off at 165 degrees; additionally, this kit does not have a separate pump. I have added links to...

  • Remote Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2001 Chevy Silverado
Ideally you would want to install the supplemental cooler like the part # D15220 downstream of your factory cooler. This way you get the benefit of both coolers. I attached an install video that shows a similar cooler being installed in a similar 2002 Silverado as yours. You will also need the part # D13006 and # D13035.

  • Remote Oil and Transmission Cooler for a 2016 Ford F-150 3.5 Liter EcoBoost
For a remote mount transmission and oil cooler for your 2016 Ford F-150 I recommend a model that has its own fan such as # D15200. Models that do not have their own fan would have to be mounted where they can get air flow so they can't be remote mounted. In addition to the cooler assembly # D15200 I also recommend oil cooler installation kit # D15752 and transmission cooler install kit # D13006. There aren't any special fittings that you would need for your 2016 Ford F-150.

  • Combination Oil and Transmission Cooler for a 2004 Nissan Frontier
Coolers are not vehicle specific so you will be able to install the Derale combination cooler # D15230 in your 2004 Nissan Frontier. You will just need the proper installation kits. Use # D15752 for the oil cooler portion and # D13006 for the transmission cooler portion. Since the cooler has its own fan it can be mounted anywhere there is space for it. The overall dimensions of the cooler are 12-3/4" wide x 7-5/8" tall x 3-3/4" deep.

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 1988 Chevy Scottsdale that Will See Extreme Hills
Sounds like you will be doing some low speed off-roading on some intense elevation changes. For situations like that you would want a remote cooler like the part # D15220 with the install kit part # D13006. Remote mount coolers like this with fans are great because even at low speeds where there isn't much air flow the fan of the cooler will provide enough air flow to allow the fluid to be effectively cooled off.

  • Will a Remote Engine Oil and Transmission Cooler Fit a 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 6.0
Engine oil and transmission coolers such as # D15220 are not vehicle specific so you can use it on your 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 6.0 liter. You will just need installation kit # D15752 and mounting kit # D13006. And for the transmission cooler part of the installation you can use fitting # D13035 to avoid having to cut and flare lines.

Here are some of the fittings that I have available that are used to connect a transmission cooler to a radiator on a 2007 Chevy Tahoe. You might want to try and measure the fitting size that is on your vehicles radiator. The Derale Insta-Dapt Radiator Adapter, # D13004, is used in the transmission coolers that we sell. It is a radiator adapter that fits most vehicles with 5/16 inch transmission lines. The Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for GM, # D13018, are 5/8 inch inverted flare...

  • Fan Powered Transmission/Oil Cooler Kit for 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 5.3 Liter
We do indeed offer fan-powered coolers that can be used for either engine oil or transmission fluid. In really rough slow-speed off-road conditions a passive cooler like Derale # D13503 may not get enough air flow through it for it to do its job. In such cases a fan-powered cooler is definitely the way to go. Coolers are not fluid-specific, meaning that any given cooler can be used for engine oil or transmission fluid. The are not vehicle-specific either. We offer both single-path and...

  • Recommended Transmission and Power Steering Cooler for 2007 Honda Pilot
I have not heard of that being done but it absolutely could work. What I would instead recommend is keeping your current transmission cooler and adding the Derale Electra-Cool Combo Engine and Transmission Cooler Assembly w/ Fan, -8 AN Inlets - 8 Pass # D15200 to use as an additional transmission cooler and a power steering cooler. This kit comes with the barb fittings to make the installation easy. You may also be interested in the Derale Single-Hose Transmission Cooler Installation...

  • Engine Oil and Transmission Fluid Combination Cooer for a 2006 Chevy Avalanche
for a remote combination oil and transmission fluid cooler I recommend # D15230. You will also need installation kit # D13006 and oil cooler kit # D15752. This is a thermostatic oil cooler kit so the thermostat will be associated with the engine oil temperature and it will activate once the temperature reaches 180 degrees so it will be perfect for your application. If you are pulling a trailer under the towing capacities of your 2008 GMC Sierra 1500, the engine temperature of the truck should not overheat. I would recommend having the vehicle looked over by your GMC dealership. What I would recommend is adding a combination transmission and oil cooler, as well as a cooling fan. This will cool the transmission fluid, the engine oil, and engine. For this, I would recommend the Derale Combination Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler, part # D15903. You...
