Steve - 04/21/2022Followed the video reference step by step and had no problems with the install. The one thing I would note is that the rivets provided are a larger size than most off the shelf rivet guns can handle. I looked at all the big box stores for a gun, and eventually made the $5 gun I got at Harbor Freight work, though each rivet required disassembling the gun.
Overall, very pleased with the hitch, and the video covering the installation.
When I placed the order it said shipping was 4-6 days for an additional $xx extra and then I received an email with a delivery date 15 days out. I called and spoke to Paula and idk what sge did but it worked! Got my hitch in time and then went to uhaul for install. Fits like a glove and now we can take our bicycles anywhere. Thank you. An appropriate appliance for our 2018 BMW X3 for hauling a 10-ft. utility trailer, most often used for hauling yard waste or a motorcycle. No complaints. Delivery was pleasingly quick.
The Draw-tite is a well made, heavy duty hitch. The only issue I have during installation was that the fender trim plastic rivets on my X3 were white, but the replacements from etrailer were black. Otherwise, installation went well, taking about 2.5 hrs to complete. Make sure you have the proper tools for removing the fascia.
This trailer hitch was 1/4 of price than dealers , easy to install and very solid. I definitely recommend to purchase through etrailer. Perfect for bike rack!
Quick shipping and excellent customer service. Self installed. Don’t let the 10/10 difficulty scare you off. The installation video shows exactly how to proceed. I would suggest writing the steps down to aid in the reassembly process. The T One custom wiring harness was very simple to install as well. Very glad I made the purchase and saved $ by installing myself.

Just to let everybody know, the reflectors on the 2022 BMW X3 do not need to come off: there are no bolts behind them. Other than that, the instructions were very good and helpful. Straight forward installation, just take your time…

It was exactly what I needed for my bike carrier.
The hitch install on my 2016 BMW X3 went just like the video and written instructions. Was very nice not to have any surprises like so many other installs. Everything fit perfectly.
Little intimidating to do at home but turned out not as time consuming. Two hours total and bumper last removal only tough part. Good call on painters tape to protect panels.
Installed myself. The degree of difficulty involves removing the car body parts & reassembling. I watched a video for installing a Curt Hitch in order to get a better idea of how to take off the body parts. It would be helpful if Etrailer provided better awareness of this video's existance as I stumbled onto it at Youtube. And I would suggest throwing in an extra plastic rivet(s) as I had 1 mis-fire. But all in all the install went smoothly, looks nice & discreet. I am very pleased so far! I plan on using the hitch in combo with my bike rack that carries 4 bikes....if it ever stops snowing.

I've now had the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver for a year. This was the second one I had installed on one of my vehicles. I use it mostly to transport road bikes, sometimes over long distances. It has worked as expected - flawlessly. After a year it shows no rust or other degradation. Draw-Title hitch receivers appear to be solidly constructed. I would not hesitate to purchase another should the need arise.
Excellent hitch with extremely fast delivery. I didn’t pay extra for shipping and had it within a week, even though my installer said some people are waiting a month for hitch receivers.

Clean look when installed, surprisingly easy to install. etrailer installation video was very helpful.
The hitch works fine and installation was straightforward. I wasn't to keen to slice into the car taillight wiring, but was preferable to paying the dealer hundreds for their module. You should inform customers your trailer light module draws power from the battery and they should pull the fuse when the hitch is not in use to avoid draining the car battery.
Shipped same day, arrived early, perfect fit. Previously ordered Curt hitch but it does not fit my 2018 X3 30i. Draw-Tite slid right in, although prep of BMW was complicated. Looks great, barely noticeable on my X3. Done in 3 hours, kick tailgate still works.
Great product - the video was very helpful. I use the BMW X3 to haul the trash/recyclables, yard waste, etc. There have been no issues with the hitch.
I received awesome customer support from etrailer.com. Initially I ordered the wrong part by accident but they came through for me by getting me the right part and refunding the cost of the old part. The new one fit great and works like it was intended. Super happy with these guys!!
