Recommended Wiring or Adapter for 7-Way Connector to 4-Way Utility Trailer Plug
Question:
How can I wire a 7 prong plug without use brake controler by using a standard utility trailer plug?

Expert Reply:
A trailer can be wired to connect to a 7-way without using all the functions. I recommend the Epicord 7-Way Molded Trailer Plug with Junction Box - 10' Long # 277-000141 to give you a clean molded connector and then only connect the functions in the junction box needed for the trailer.
Your other option is to use a basic adapter from 7-way to standard 4-way like # PK12716 or # 707250. When making electrical connections a little dielectric grease like # 11755 will help with the electrical continuity while keeping dirt and moisture out.
