Does Center Section of B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck From 2002 Chevy 3500 Fit 2011 Chevy 3500

Question:

I have hitch # GNRK1062 from a 2002, 3500 Chevy and would like to install it on my 2011, 3500 Chevy Which should take hitch GNRK1012. Will a custom installation kit work to re-use my existing center section from the 2002, or will I need to buy a complete new hitch?

That is a good question, though you will need a new B&W Turnoverball gooseneck for your 2011 Chevy Silverado 3500. The reason for that is your 2002 Chevy's hitch, the B&W # BWGNRK1062 you mentioned, uses center section # BWGNRC962, while the # BWGNRK1012 that fits the 2011 Chevy Silverado 3500 uses part # BWGNRC912.

I know I just threw a lot of part numbers at you, so just to simplify, in order to add the B&W gooseneck to your 2011 Chevy Silverado 3500, you will need the entire hitch, which is the following part:

- B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch with Custom Installation Kit # BWGNRK1012

I also wanted to mention that if you do not have a gooseneck wiring harness for '11 Silverado 3500, that the correct fit for your truck is the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness # C56070.
