Video Transcript for Saris MHS Bike Rack Dolly Review

Howdy everyone, John here. And today we're gonna be taking at the dolly for MHS bike racks from Saris, here at etrailer.com. Now, as you can see, I have a very large bike rack here. This is gonna be the Saris MHS four bike rack and it is a heavy bike rack. I can barely get it up just by putting a little bit of effort in. And anytime that we're actually going to use this, I usually have to have a coworker or friend help me put it on.

Now, if I'm just moving this from one side of our filming area to the other, having this makes it so much easier. Now, this is gonna be very useful if you have a large garage, if you plan on having maybe a workstation for it. I recommend always putting this on whenever you're trying to move it around 'cause not only are you just gonna be using all of your energy but you also have to worry about maybe some aches and pains or hurting yourself as you're moving something this heavy. Now, let's take a closer look at this product. Putting this on to your Saris bike rack or to be honest, any other two-inch hitch item, is going to be relatively simple.

All you have to do is pop out this pin. Make sure you hold onto your bike rack as you put it in. Now, as you can see, there are multiple sets of holes. So, if you have to put it like this, for some reason, you can do that but we're just gonna put it normally like this. Line it up with your other pin hole.

Push that through. Once you get it tightened down, you're ready to go. All you have to do is put your foot there and then you can move it around at your leisure. Now, as you can see, this is relatively easy compared to if I was trying to lift it. I can lift a good amount if I need to, but overall whenever I'm able to move it around like this and not have to worry about straining myself, it just makes it a much easier and more fun experience.

This works on any two-inch hitch accessories. So, it doesn't just have to be your Saris. We have an etrailer cargo carrier here today and it's on the heavier side. So, if you're having a day where you're wanting to go out to a campsite and you're wanting to bring this instead of your bike rack, it's gonna be very easy to throw on there. Now, my final thoughts on this dolly system is, let's say that you work in a workshop or you happen to have a very large garage, I definitely recommend getting one of these, especially if you have the MHS bike rack 'cause this is a heavy system. You don't want to hurt yourself whenever you're moving it around. You don't wanna worry about having problems with expending all of that energy, getting it onto your vehicle and then not having it for your adventure. It also works on almost every other two-inch hitch accessory. So, let's say you have a cargo carrier or some other two-inch hitch item, you're not gonna have to worry about lifting that as well, you have something that you can put on there. So, I definitely recommend just adding this to your ability to put things on there. So, I recommend getting one of these. And that was a look at the dolly for MHS Saris bike racks, here at etrailer. My name's John, thanks for watching..

I really needed a way to get my 50lb. ebike rack into my storage shed. With only a gravel pathway, the little wheels that come with dolly would have sunk too deep into the gravel, making it more of a drag than a roll. I modified the wheels to fit two 6" x2" solid rubber (Marathon)wheels that fit with a longer bolt and still clear the locking cotter pin. Works great now! Perhaps the company should offer this as an option?

  • What is the Overall Length of the Saris MHS Bike Rack for 4 Bikes
The Saris MHS Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # SAR95MR will sit 55" back from the center of your hitch pin hole when in the "tow" position. If you remove your bikes you can then put it in the "folded up" position which reduces it to a mere 14" from the center of your hitch pin hole which is pretty impressive for a bike rack of this caliber. Attached is a review video for you to check out. This guy weighs in at a bit over 100 lbs so I also recommend picking up the Dolly for Saris MHS Bike Rack #...

  • Is There a Wheel Kit for the Thule T2 Pro XT 2 Bike Rack 9034XTB
I do have an option for you but there aren't any transport wheels on the Thule T2 Pro XT 2 Bike Rack 9034XTB nor is there anyway to add them. They do however come on the newer version of this rack, the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack for 2 Bikes part # TH83JV so if you want this feature you'd have to upgrade. The other option is a dolly like the Dolly for Saris MHS Bike Rack part # SAR33MR which will still help you easily maneuver the rack but the part isn't integrated into the rack so there...
