The hitch was exactly what it said it was and fit perfect. To date I have never been disappointed with etrailer. Your customer service is impeccable in an age when customer service is unheard of. Thank You!!

by:

Very well-built product. It does require drilling, but I understand the need. It gives a superior support, instead of relying on the bumper to help hold it up.

by:
2011 Chevrolet Silverado

Hitch receiver is quality, hardware is on point, instructions are great. Installed on my 2011 3500 with 2018 bed and bumper in ten minutes.

by:

Great upgrade hitch from factory. Definitely would recommend if you are hauling big loads.

by:

The package was all tore apart. Missing half. The hardware had to make my own brackets otherwise the hitch itself is built awesome

it is not recommended that you use your hitch unless you have the appropriate parts and hardware. These hitches are designed to use the specific hardware that they come with and not following the install instructions can result in a compromised hitch. That being said, I have already sent your information to our customer service team and they will be getting in touch with you about getting the missing hardware to you.

by:
2012 GMC Sierra

The instructions are wrong stating one hole per side has to be drilled, reality is two holes per side must be drilled and old hardware reused for these holes. In my case the side pieces were missing from my order.

Thank you for providing feedback on the hitch. I will have our customer service team reach out to you about the missing hardware.

2018 GMC Sierra 3500

On time shipment easy to find what was needed to order on website

by:

I’ll tell you what customer service is top notch. Hitch arrived as advertised with very decent packaging which was surprising. Thanks again E trailer will definitely do business again soon.

2013 Chevrolet Silverado

Hitch was missing parts so I called on a Monday and I was told they would have the missing parts to me by Wednesday, the parts didn’t ship until Thursday. I bought the hitch so I could move without hiring movers. I have to be out Friday, now my parts won’t be here until Friday or later. So now I’m forced to hire movers. I would not reccomend etrailer for any purchases at all. They don’t stand behind their word and weren’t willing to do anything about their mistake.

by:
2019 Ram 2500

Mounting took a bit longer than I thought. Drilling the 2 holes in the frame at an angle was challenging but I was successful and am very pleased with the Curt Class V hitch. I just wish GM would have installed the class V because the 2500 HD trucks are designed for towing to begin with. This will add value to the truck when selling it in the future. The installed height of the OEM was about 16-1/4". The Curt Hitch was about 1" lower. I will be using my Blue Ox BXW2000 hitch SWAYPRO reciever.

by:

I’m super happy! The hitch you recommended is heavy, powder coated, quality built. Makes me feel much safer than the stock original equipment (failed).

by:
2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

This hitch was easy to install myself with the help of a floor jack. I was very impressed with the etrailer website and how fast the hitch was delivered. I will be doing more business here for sure.

by:
2016 GMC Sierra 3500

Just installed the Curt Class V Commercial hitch on my 2016 GMC Denali Dually replacing the OEM hitch that was less then optimum for the towing I do, Installation was straight forward my wife and I had it installed in little over an hour after removing the stock hitch.

by:
2018 Ford Edge

Overall I am very happy with this hitch. I think it is more sturdy and safer pulling heavy loads. Unfortunately there was more work involved in installation then the directions revealed. The hitch required 2 new holes to be drilled in each frame rail. To complicate this, one hole in the passenger side frame was on the edge of one of the bolt holes that mount the spare tire shield. This hole required the use of a drill bit and a rotary file.

by:

I didn't think this required drilling, but perhaps I mis-read the description. It does require drilling 2 holes. Probably is you have to lift this 100lb monster into place to mark where the holes go, THEN pull it out of the way to drill the holes straight.

After you put it back, you find that the 1/2 hole they tell you to drill doesn't fit the 9/16" hardware they sent. Of course 9/16" is bigger than most folks have in their drill set, so I spent an hour with a dremel to make it big enough.

If the instructions were correct this would have taken half the time. The receiver itself does look the business.

These are very heavy, excellent quality hitches, OEM one had broken on 2 of my trucks don't think these will break.

by:

Excellent turn around time. Received product in two working days. Staff was very helpful with the order. They verified the hitch would fit my vehicle and were able to answer technical questions on the product.

by:

Fit great. Good price. Fast shipping

Great Fit, easy to install.

  • Will Curt Class V 2-1/2 Trailer Hitch for 2013 GMC Sierra 2500/3500 Interfere with Backup Sensors
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C15860 which is a fit for a 2013 GMC Sierra 2500/3500 will not affect the backup sensors. It does not stick out far enough to trigger said sensors so there will be no issues there. That said, whatever you attach to the hitch could but this would be on a case by case basis. I have attached a video for you on a model with backup sensors and there were no issues after install. If you don't already have a 2-1/2" ball mount for this hitch, I recommend...

  • Fit of Adjustable Ball Mount on 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500
The ball mount you referenced, Fastway Self-Locking Adjustable Aluminum Ball Mount # DTALBM7025, fits 2-1/2-inch hitches and its locking pins will engage with the hitch pin holes on a 2-1/2-inch receiver tube. If you have a similar ball mount made for a 2-inch hitch, such as # DTALBM6600, its pins will not extend out far enough to engage with the holes on a 2-1/2-inch receiver. You cannot use a reducer sleeve like # C45405 to use a 2-inch ball mount in a 2-1/2-inch hitch. For reference...

  • What Should Clearance Be From Bed Rails to Fifth Wheel
The 4,400 lb tandem axles you have are supporting a very similar weight and trying to get these to support exactly the same weight consistently would be pretty tedious and not particularly beneficial. The 220 lb difference is perfectly fine so I would concentrate on making sure you tow as level as possible, which is going to be the best thing for you to for even suspension wear. If you take a look at the accompanying photo you can see that you need 5" to 6" for clearance from bed rails...

The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V - 2-1/2" # DT45511 (no longer available) does require drilling for installation. It also requires the OEM factory bumper and brackets and allows the full size spare tire. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V Commercial Duty - 2-1/2" # C15860 does not require drilling and does not require the OEM bumper or brackets. It is rated for the same capacities. Both are great hitches, you will just take more time installing...

We offer trailer hitch receivers for the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 short-box, long-box and cab-and chassis versions. I have linked all hitch options for each type of vehicle. The options include some Class III hitches, but primarily the heavier-duty Class IV and Class V varieties. For a 6-1/2-foot bed truck, for example, you can use Curt hitch # C15860 which offers a tongue weight rating of 2700-lbs and a trailer weight rating of 20,000-lbs.

Yes you can use the Curt hitch extension part # C45048 with your 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500 but you'd need to have a 2-1/2 inch hitch installed on the truck as well like the Curt # C15860 and you'd be set.

I do have options for you but you cannot install two of part # C45796 together to get a total of 36". Doing so would completely diminish your trailer hitches weight capacity. The most cost effective solution I have for you would be to use part # RP45292 for 24"-34". However, this option is only 34" max lenth and will require a 2-1/2" trailer hitch receiver like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C15860. • Aftermarket Hitch Recommendation and Capacity for 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD
When it comes to towing components like hitches, you're always going to be limited to the capacity of your lowest rated components; so adding a higher rated hitch to your vehicle isn't going to increase your towing capacity or the payload. From what I was able to determine with my research, the towing capacity of your 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD with a 6.0L engine is 13000-lbs and the payload capacity is going to be somewhere between 3000-lbs and 3500-lbs depending on your trim package....

  • Hitch, Hitch Extension and Weight Distribution Recommendation for a 2015 Chevy Silverado 3500
Here are the towing components you will need. For a hitch you will need a Class V hitch with a 2-1/2 inch opening like the Curt Trailer Hitch # C15860. This hitch has more than enough capacity for your trailer even when reduced by 50 percent. For a 24 inch extension you will want the Titan Hitch Box Extension # RP45292. This also would have enough capacity for you trailer and would be compatible with weight distribution. The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base...

That is the number I found for the 2455BHS so you may want to double check and make sure that is the model you are looking at. We normally recommend a 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck to tow but if the 1/2 ton has the right towing capacity then it can do the job. • Inside Measurement of 2-1/2 Inch Receiver for Trailer Hitch on 2013 Chevy Silverado
Without knowing the model number it simply is not possible to tell you with absolute certainty what size receiver you have, but the largest receiver size for aftermarket hitches for a 2013 Chevy Silverado 2500 or 3500 is 2-1/2 inches, such as what is on the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15860. That said, the inside of the receiver should only measure 2-1/2 inches, and even taking into account some variance hitch by hitch, one that measures 2-3/4 inches is particularly large. It seems...
