So far the trans cooler has been working well. I also used the adapters. Both products are doing well after 1500 miles or so and many hills, mountains, and trailering.

Great cooler upgrade for my 1997 GMC Yukon! Little delivery damage, but was so easy to bend those fins back to original shape so no worries!
Nice that you had proper dimension measurements online, so it was easy to figure out what kind I can fit in my truck. Complete kit had everything I needed to get it done!
Modified old cooler bracket little bit and that was it. Works great!

by:

by:

Have I gotten my refund for trans cooler fittings that weren't needed? 1994 k1500 trans cooler is working great.

by:

Very handy for unique installations fo transmission coolers

by:

It looks like from reading the matierl if one is using the cooler in series with the factory cooler this adapter is not needed.
Thus I would like to return, but I fear the shipping cost will not make sense, dollar wise...

Thus the recommendation should state if you are adding a cooler to your system where one does not already exist, then you'll need this adapter.

So if your adding to an already existing system, you do not need the adapter.

by:

Worked out great for installing the extra trans cooler.

by:

Worked just as needed

by:

These fittings made connecting the hoses to the steel transmission lines very easy - glad I bought them! I recommend getting them.

by:

Just received my order today. I haven't installed the parts yet. They appear to be high quality though.

by:

Great buying experience, will definitely be a go to company for future purchases

by:

I purchased these fittings thinking these would fit my GM product. NOT.......These are 3/8 and looks like the fit the truck series only as stated on the package. Be aware

  • Can the Auxiliary Transmission Cooler be Bypassed on a 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71
Yes, you can bypass the auxiliary transmission cooler on your 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 but you will need an adapter to do so, the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for GM part # D13018 which goes straight on the radiator and allows you to hook up the new lines without any splicing. We typically recommend you just install the new one in-line with the old one. However, if you choose not to then I recommend using a cooler with sufficient capacity such as the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission...

  • Are Radiator Adapter Fittings Needed When Installing Transmission Cooler on 1999 Chevrolet Corvette
When installing a transmission cooler in a 1999 Chevrolet Corvette the adapter fittings you might need is the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for GM, part # D13018. These fittings are only needed if your Corvette has a 5/8 inch hex size fitting on the transmission line. If you have a different hex size, then you do not need the adapter fittings. The # D13018 adapter part is two fittings, which is all you will need to install a transmission cooler to your Corvette. The Derale Snap-In...

There really is not set amount of time because every vehicle is different and different size engines have more or less space and use different fittings. For a 2003 Jeep Cherokee with a 4.7 liter, use Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings, # D13018. For a 4.0 liter, use kit # D13028 for 3/8 inch x 3/8 inch hose splicers, or kit # HH41413. The best option for your 2002 Chevy Silverado with the 6.0L V8 engine is a plate fin cooler like the Derale # D13504. The plate fin style cooler helps dissipate heat better than a tube fin style and this is the largest cooler that is going to fit in your vehicle. • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500
For your 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 I would recommend the larger transmission cooler part # D13504 as basically the larger the cooler you have the better, and your truck would have room for it's size of 11" Wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep. For a fitting that would allow you to install the cooler without having to cut or flare any lines you would want the part # D13018.
