There are at least 5 different parts needed to flat tow your 2021 Chevrolet Equinox behind your RV. I will list them out, explain what each one does/is for and provide a recommendation for each part.

Base Pate Kit: This is what installs onto your Equinox and where the tow bar coming from the RV will attach. I recommend the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1730. This base plate kit is made in the USA, has a hidden design that provides a clean, seamless look and the arms remove with a simple twist when not in use to provide a cleaner appearance.

Tow Bar and Safety Cables: This is what is going to connect the RV and your Equinox for towing. I recommend the Blue Ox Alpha 2 Non-Binding Tow Bar # BX7380. This tow bar is compatible with the base plate I recommended above, is also made in the USA, and has non-binding latches that make it easy to unhook the tow bar on any terrain. This tow bar also includes the safety cables, which is one of the 5 parts needed for flat towing.

Wiring: The wiring is what is going to allow your Equinox to have turn signals and brake lights when your RV turns or brakes. This part depends on whether you have the Premier Equinox or excluding the Premier. If you have the Premier I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. If you do not have the Premier I recommend the Roadmaster Smart Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Wiring Kit # RM26FR. Both of these wiring kits are made in the USA and will allow you to connect your RV's tail, brake, and turn signal lights to your towed car's lighting system.

Supplemental Braking System: The supplemental braking system applies the towed vehicle's brakes in proportion to the braking action of your RV. Essentially the towed car's brakes are activated at the same time and with the same intensity as those in your motor home. I recommend the Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251. This kit is made in the USA and has a one-time setup, there is no need to remove or to activate it each time you tow.

You may also need a high-low adapter if your tow set-up is not within 3" of level. I have attached a help article that helps you figure out if a high-low adapter is needed. I have also linked our page of high-low adapters so that you can choose the correct one if you determine one is needed.
