Build went great. Built custom axle. Drilled 4 bung holes, cleaned up the spindles, used dial indicator to make it true and mig welded it up. Welded new perches on axle tube, painted it, mounted and Done. Gone Fishing.

Really fast shipping and product as described.
Will
use them again.

Good part. Appears to work well.

I purchased these hubs, spindles, wheels and tires for a machine that I'm building. Initially, I tried to source them locally, but nobody had all six items that I needed. So I turned to etrailer again, and was very well pleased. All the items are of very high quality and work together without any modification. And the price, including the (free) shipping from etrailer was less than any local vendor, and they were delivered in less than a week. etrailer comes through once again! Thank you, etrailer!

by:

Should do the job. One of the two had some surface rust on it in the bearing area. Nothing real bad just needs some scotchbrite

  • Replacement Hub For A 1949 Or 1950 TeeNee Boat Trailer With Short Spindles
I have a solution for you, but as the short spindles have not been produced for some time now, there will not be a hub that will fit them properly, unfortunately. You will need to replace the spindles with the BT8 Spindle for 2,000-lb Trailer Axles # TRU59FR. If you are or know a good welder, this can be done pretty easily, but you need to make sure the cross tube connecting the two spindles has an inner diameter of 1-3/8" (typically a 1-3/4" outer diameter). Once these are on, the CE...

  • Replacing Hubs On a 4' X 6' Carry On Trailer From 4 on 4" Lugs to 5 on 4-1/2" Lug Pattern 15" Wheels
Your current axle on your 4' X 6' Carry on Trailer will likely have either a BT8 Spindle # TRU59FR or BTR Spindle # TRU44FR. You can determine the spindle by removing your current hub and inspecting the bearings or by measuring the spindle itself. I have included a image that shows the locations of the bearing numbers and grease seals on your current hub as well as the measurement points for spindle as well. The BT8 Spindle # TRU59FR uses Bearings # L44643 which have an inner diameter...

  • How to Find a Replacement Spindle and Hub for a 5x10 SnowBear Utility Trailer with 2000 lb Axle
We do have spindles and hubs for 2,000 lb axles, but we first want to determine which spindle and hub will work best for you. To do this we will need additional information about your current spindles and hubs to ensure the new spindle and hub match what you currently have. Unfortunately SnowBear does not provide general spindle and hub information for their trailers. The best way to ensure you get the correct spindle and hub is by using the part numbers of your bearings and grease seal....

The Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 4 on 4 - Galvanized # AKIHUB-440-2-G-EZ-1K that you are considering buying is designed to work with BT8 spindles rated at 2,000 lbs, just as the hub is rated at 2,000 lbs. If you need a 1-3/8" diameter spindle, use BT8 Spindle for 2,000-lb Trailer Axles - 1-3/8" Diameter # TRU59FR. • Do You Carry A Trailer Hub For Mounting On a 3/4" Straight Spindle?
Personally, I do not recommend using a bearing reducer with the Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-440-2-EZ-1K as that just adds an additional item which can fail. Instead the best route would be to upgrade to the BT8 Spindle # TRU59FR which will also give you a more commonly found part which will allow you to more easily get parts if you ever have a roadside breakdown. Currently we do not carry any hubs which will fit on a 3/4" straight spindle.

The measurements that you gave tell me that you have a BT8 Spindle # TRU59FR. If you wish to replace your bearings, races and grease seal you will want the Bearing Kit # BK1-100. This includes 2 Bearings # L44643, 2 Races # L44610, a Grease Seal # 34823 and a Cotter Pin # 165649. To make things easier you can replace your entire hub. • Unable to Identify 4 Inch Spring That Fell Off While Repacking Bearings
The only spring you may come across while repacking the bearings would be from the brake assembly. I would check out the brake assembly and see if it looks like a spring is missing. I have attached two different photos of brake assemblies which are labeled that you may reference to find the springs depending on what you have. There are also numerous photos and videos on the product page if you would like to look at the # AKEBRK-35-SA Electric Trailer Brake Kit.

  • Depth Measurement For Hubs That Fit A 1" Straight Spindle
We do have hubs available for a 1" straight spindle in part # AKIHUB-440-2-EZ-1K. This hub measures 4-1/4" deep so it will run a bit longer than the hub you are looking for. There are a total of 4 hubs that we carry for a 1" straight spindle and all 4 would be identical as far as depth. A lot of these older boat trailers use hubs that are trailer specific, and it may prove very difficult to find. • Should a Spindle That is Chipping be Replaced
Anytime that a spindle is starting to take damage you will want to replace it as that will affect the performance of your bearings and seal. In this case since that chipping is right where the seal sits (as you mentioned) that will eat at the rubber seal which will likely cause it to fail. A failed seal will leak grease and cause further damage to your spindle/hub area. From the picture you sent in it looks like you have a round BT8 spindle. For replacements we have parts # TRU94FR, #...

  • How Far Apart Do the Races Need To Be On a BT8 Spindle
There is not really an exact required distance between the inner and outer race on a spindle as the trailer hub will dictate this distance and there can very well be some variances between different trailer hubs. However, I went out to our warehouse and pulled a trailer hub that is fit for the BT8 Spindle part # TRU59FR and measured the distance between the inner and outer races (inside to inside). I found this to be right at 2-1/16" so your trailer hub will need to be very close to this...

  • Replacement Trailer Idler Hub With Inner Bearing 1.25" and Outer Bearing 0.75" Inner Diameters
The only hub we carry that will fit your spindle size is the Agricultural Hub # AH15450ECOMP, as most have changed over to the more common BT8 # TRU59FR and BTR # TRU44FR. The agricultural hub is only rated for speeds up to 20mph and uses a 4 on 5" bolt pattern. You can have your spindles replaced to one of the more common sizes but this is best done at a trailer manufacturer so they can true up the ends of the spindle to ensure it is welded on straight. As far as removing your current spindle, you will need to grind/drill off the old one. One the old spindle is removed, I recommend the BT8 Spindle for 2,000-lb Trailer Axles # TRU59FR (for a 1-3/8 diameter) or the # TRU94FR (for 1-1/4 diameter). The measurement of the diameter is the stub (innermost tube on the spindle). In order to get the correct size, I recommend measuring the stub of your old spindle once it is removed.
