Build went great. Built custom axle. Drilled 4 bung holes, cleaned up the spindles, used dial indicator to make it true and mig welded it up. Welded new perches on axle tube, painted it, mounted and Done. Gone Fishing.

Great fit and shipped fast.

I purchased these hubs, spindles, wheels and tires for a machine that I'm building. Initially, I tried to source them locally, but nobody had all six items that I needed. So I turned to etrailer again, and was very well pleased. All the items are of very high quality and work together without any modification. And the price, including the (free) shipping from etrailer was less than any local vendor, and they were delivered in less than a week. etrailer comes through once again! Thank you, etrailer!

by:

Really fast shipping and product as described.
Will
use them again.

by:

Good part. Appears to work well.

by:

Should do the job. One of the two had some surface rust on it in the bearing area. Nothing real bad just needs some scotchbrite

  • Trailer Idler Hub Assembly For a 1" Diameter Spindle That is 4-1/4" Long
It sounds like you are needing the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-440-2-G-1K for your trailer. This hub fits the BT8 Spindle # TRU59FR which is 1" in diameter and has a length of 4-1/4" long from the inner bearing landing to the end of the threads. The Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-440-2-G-2K you found fits a BTR Spindle # TRU44FR which has a diameter of 1.063" for the hub bearings.

  • Depth Measurement For Hubs That Fit A 1" Straight Spindle
We do have hubs available for a 1" straight spindle in part # AKIHUB-440-2-EZ-1K. This hub measures 4-1/4" deep so it will run a bit longer than the hub you are looking for. There are a total of 4 hubs that we carry for a 1" straight spindle and all 4 would be identical as far as depth. A lot of these older boat trailers use hubs that are trailer specific, and it may prove very difficult to find. We do carry replacement spindles like part # TRU59FR, if you want to change it out for a more...

  • Will the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000 lb Axles Work With a 1" Spindle
Tom, the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles # AKIHUB-440-2-G-1K are going to work with BT8 spindles like # TRU59FR which have a diameter of 1 3/8" and an overall length of 8 1/4" so it's not going to work with your current spindles. Your best bet would be to replace the entire axle with one that has more common sized spindles because I'd highly doubt you're going to find anything that works with those spindles. If you let me know the capacity of your axles, the spring seat...

  • Are the TruRyde Spindle # TRU59FR and etrailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-2-2K Compatible
The TruRyde Spindle # TRU94FR and our Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-2-2K are not compatible, but you could use the TruRyde EZ Lube Spindle # TRU44FR instead as it has the correct spindle measurements. For a hub that will work with the TruRyde Spindle # TRU94FR you can use part # AKIHUB-545-2-1K. To determine if a hub is compatible with a specific spindle you will need to make sure that the inner diameters of the Inner Bearing, Outer Bearing, and Grease Seal of the hub matches...

  • Replacing Hubs On a 4' X 6' Carry On Trailer From 4 on 4" Lugs to 5 on 4-1/2" Lug Pattern 15" Wheels
Your current axle on your 4' X 6' Carry on Trailer will likely have either a BT8 Spindle # TRU59FR or BTR Spindle # TRU44FR. You can determine the spindle by removing your current hub and inspecting the bearings or by measuring the spindle itself. I have included a image that shows the locations of the bearing numbers and grease seals on your current hub as well as the measurement points for spindle as well. The BT8 Spindle # TRU59FR uses Bearings # L44643 which have an inner diameter...

The Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles - 4 on 4 - L44643 Bearings - Pre-Greased # AKIHUB-440-2-1K won't fit your trailer spindle as it will be too long. The reason is, this hub is designed to work on BT8 spindles, which are longer than what you have. The only solution we can offer is to replace your short and older spindles with a new one that will work with the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-440-2-1K, which is the BT8 Spindle for 2,000 lb Trailer Axles # TRU59FR. The Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 4 on 4 - Galvanized # AKIHUB-440-2-G-EZ-1K that you are considering buying is designed to work with BT8 spindles rated at 2,000 lbs, just as the hub is rated at 2,000 lbs. • Should a Spindle That is Chipping be Replaced
Anytime that a spindle is starting to take damage you will want to replace it as that will affect the performance of your bearings and seal. In this case since that chipping is right where the seal sits (as you mentioned) that will eat at the rubber seal which will likely cause it to fail. A failed seal will leak grease and cause further damage to your spindle/hub area. From the picture you sent in it looks like you have a round BT8 spindle. For replacements we have parts # TRU94FR, #...

  • What Replacement Spindle Do I Need for a Dexter 69-46 Spindle?
As far as removing your current spindle, you will need to grind/drill off the old one. One the old spindle is removed, I recommend the BT8 Spindle for 2,000-lb Trailer Axles # TRU59FR (for a 1-3/8 diameter) or the # TRU94FR (for 1-1/4 diameter). The measurement of the diameter is the stub (innermost tube on the spindle). In order to get the correct size, I recommend measuring the stub of your old spindle once it is removed. I went ahead and attached videos of both of these spindles in order...

  • Replacement Axle for 1956 Dutton-Lainson Trailer
Hi Mark; it looks like you may have already sorted this out since you bought the # TRU59FR replacement spindle. Assuming this is a 2k axle that is the best option aside from replacement. You can still send me your pictures but based on the age and your description I'm 99% sure it is an old outdated spindle nothing would fit. If the axle appears to be in good shape by all means swap out the spindle, otherwise it is probably a good idea to replace it completely like you originally thought.

I have a solution for you, but as the short spindles have not been produced for some time now, there will not be a hub that will fit them properly, unfortunately. You will need to replace the spindles with the BT8 Spindle for 2,000-lb Trailer Axles # TRU59FR. There is not really an exact required distance between the inner and outer race on a spindle as the trailer hub will dictate this distance and there can very well be some variances between different trailer hubs.
