Roof vents are not a luxury item, or even fun to shop for, but they are a necessity. Roof vents are also not something you want to have to replace very often - because, let's be real, who wants to climb up on top of the roof of their RV more than they have to? This is why I am going to cut to the chase and tell you what the best RV roof vents are, that way you can spend less time worrying about which vent to get, and more time enjoying your adventures.

However, there are quite a few differences between the Fan-Tastic Vent and the MaxxFan.First of all, this vent does have rain protection, but instead of being able to operate the fan when it's raining, this vent has a built-in rain sensor that will automatically close the lid and shut off the fan until the sensor is dry. This is a great feature to have as you don't have to worry about closing it yourself if the weatherman lied and it suddenly starts to downpour. This Fan-Tastic vent also features the same automatic and manual modes of operation to give you the ability to have control over every aspect of the airflow. This vent actually has more speeds than the MaxxFan, featuring 13 manual and automatic speeds, compared to MaxxFan's 10 manual speeds. This is a great feature if you are someone who's very picky about the thermostat and need to have it just right, so you don't let anyone else touch it (you know who you are).And did I mention Fan-Tastic vents are made in the USA?This vent is NOT for you if:Even though this vent has the automatic rain sensor, it's still not as convenient as the MaxxFan vent, since you are not able to use the Fan-Tastic Vent's fan during bad weather. But if you are looking to save some money, and are okay with having to hand-crank your vent every time you'd like to open it, this option will be a good one for you. All Ventline vents are made in the USA, and this one comes with a 2-year warranty, so you can depend on their great overall quality.This manual lift roof vent also has a 12v fan, like the first two contenders on our list, so it will still circulate air more efficiently than a vent without. But to operate the fan, there is a switch mounted on the vent instead of a handheld remote.This Ventline Vent features the same pop-out bug screen as the first two options, making it easy and painless to remove and clean. This vent also features a translucent cover which will let some natural light into your RV. The Ventline Ventadome is a great option for you if you are simplistic and don't need the best of the best, or the fanciest vent out thereThis vent is NOT for you if:Even though this vent does have a 12v fan, it is a non-reversible, exhaust-only fan, which basically means that it will not pull in fresh air and exhaust hot air and moisture like a reversible fan. Vents with a non-reversible fan will only exhaust hot air and moisture, so not having that ability to pull in fresh air can make a huge difference if you're in a warm climate. Also, the fan blades on this Ventline Vent are smaller than the MaxxFan or the Fan-Tastic Vent, so it will not circulate air as quickly or efficiently. Another drawback is that this vent doesn't have any sort of rain sensor that tells it to close when it starts raining, so be sure to keep an eye on the forecast and close the lid as soon as you see a rain cloud.All in all, if you think you'll have trouble having to hand-crank the arm to open the lid everytime, and you like the convenience of a handheld remote, I recommend sticking with one of the first two options. You represent an exceptional company. If and only If you want to disturb your fine roof seal to your existing vent then the above minus cost are fine. An option is to put a very inexpensive cover over the std roof vent found on most RVs and that will keep the rain/snow out easily and the attachment is to the vent frame, not more pentretions of the roof. Want better air flow? One can purchase a retrofit fan system that replaces the existing tiny 12 volt motor and blade. Both can be acquired at prices that total far below the intial cost and the trouble of a roof installation. An alternative that I believe would enhance your analysis that makes your web reviews so valuable to so many of us..
